No flames? :( Need to sort that out ASAP  Decat & silencer deletion on the way...

Had a mini-meet today with Vornwend, GlosterOx & Swompy. Had a really good blast on the way to the pub- was well chuffed that my VR managed to keep up with Vaughan's 263 cammed/mapped Storm! 8) Here's a pic, courtesy of Vaughan.

had one and hated it, i'm only 40 Jim not a retired bloody geography teahcer with a flat cap and a tweed jacket. Not long ago you were saying you missed it - make ya mind up! :cuckoo: Love my vRS, and think the newest version is even better :luvlove:

Cellulose thinners is brilliant, or nail varnish remover.

The DG remap is superb- much better low down/mid range torque. Nice and smooth too 8)

What a heap...

The B4 Passat estate one seems to be the most common choice, although I seem to remember someone saying that an Ibiza roof is a better fit
-
No worries- thanks also for the quick payment :salute:

That cream one with the MKIV front end always gets me- WTF!!! :cuckoo:

As above- check all the hoses etc very thoroughly. My first 16v did this and it turned out to be a tiny split under one of the ISV hoses. Two garages couldn't solve it.

Yep, they swap over fine :)
-
It is number 12 :) Think there are two versions though- my dealer wasn't sure which one it would be, so I bought them both (only a few pence).

Yep, there's early or late. Late fogs sit in a plastic frame that also houses the indicators, whereas earlies are seperate. Early indicators are obsolete :(

Try this thread mate :)

Moving to Suppliers... Don't think so mate. Only seem to be ones that cover the leading edge and/or front bumper.

It looks superb on the track, Fay, especially now it's lowered 8) That last shot is excellent :)

Been with Flux for years, and they always gave me great deals. Howerver, this time they wanted £800 for the VR! The woman was a bit 'like it or lump it' when they requoted at £400, even though Admiral had quoted me £300. This really put me off- I'd been with them for around 8 years, yet this didn't seem to count for anything. Then, they didn't want to give me any refund for cancelling early  They eventually gave my money back (thanks to the Flux guy on Briskoda) . Chris Knott matched Admiral + were very sincere and helpful, so I went with them :)

Been out all day, gotta look like I'm doing something! ;)

Moving... Best I got recently for my VR was Chris Knott. Shopped around quite a bit. It's worth arming yourself with some quotes from a comparison website first though.

watch out for this - it's often a precursor to rust around the windscreen seating... not wanting to be the bearer of bad news or anything, but be warned... hope you get it all sorted anyway pal - if you've got windsceen cover on your insurance i would "develop" a crack and see if you can get a bit of time between when they take it out for you and when they put it back in - get it provisionally booked into a bodyshop in the interim... edit - lovely looking motor btw - looks like you've bought a good'un :) Cheers, Pete :) Gonna have a go at the windscreen rust in the next few weeks with some Rustoleum ;) Hopefully that should sort it...

The BMC does make the vr sound very nice It's amazing how something so simple can absolutely transform a car 8)

DG found quite a few probs today- coilpack was the most costly- the plastic casing was completely split open and hanging off! Also (apart from the full service) freed up the brake bias valve, fixed the immobiliser, adjusted the throttle damper and cable, replaced oil cooler seals, bled clutch, replaced V-belt + tensioner. Also replaced the auxillary waterpump and the gearbox mount (both of which I'd already bought). We fitted the BMC too- sounds amazing now. Really enjoyed the drive home- felt so much more responsive and smooth.

Thanks, Ed- good to see you today 8) Finally got everything finished at around 6pm! Drove so well on the way home  Aye, teaching does have one or two benefits ;)
