Jim's Corrado - ciao to the Fiat! Hello to.. (P64)
CazzaVR replied to Jim's topic in Members Gallery
Good work, Jim (and Dave! ;) :salute: . I must admit, after driving Dave's 16v with the fixed column last year, I was totally won over. One of the best mods you can do IMHO, hopefully I'll be doing it at some stage on the VR. -
Nice cars mate. Love the Rado- best colour in my opinion 8)

My wife just spotted an H reg with tinted windows at the top of our road in Wotton :)
-
Nah, thinking about it, it was between 6 & 7pm.
-
What were you doing in Oxford then Andy, that's my old neck of the woods!! Ian. Visiting my sister-in-law & her new baby :)
-
Defo worth changing your fuel filter. Really cheap and relatively simple to do. Chances are, it hasn't been done for ages, if at all.
-
Two today! First one was a blackberry, lowered on 17s with black cloth Recaros parked at the Maternity unit, John Radcliffe hospital, Oxford. Later on saw a blue C heading towards Oxford.

Have heard lots of stories about Zimmerman's warping...
-
It's a bit of a bugger- much better with the dash either out or at least pulled forwards. It's on the inside of the wing (inside the car), a few centimetres above the bonnet pull/fusebox. Just noticed you've got another thread about these problems- please keep to one thread in the future, just makes things simpler :) We'll keep this one open though, as it's a good idea to split up your car probs a bit! Hope you get them sorted!
-
Inside the wing, above the fusebox :) It's a circular metal earth point and should have several earth wires attached to it. You need to make sure the connections are clean and seated properly.
-
Hi mate, Just moved your thread from 'Engine Bay' into the 'Interior' section, as your probs are all Interior-related. Hopefully you will get more help in here. Have you checked all the earths on the earth 'wheel' inside the wing above the fusebox?
-
Moving- think you'll get more response here ;)
-
That's terrible! My VR6 one was similar :gag:
-
Yeh, wouldn't feel comfortable with it in the wet TBH. DG said not to worry too much as it wouldn't make that much difference though
-
Had this prob with my last 16v. Spoke to a couple of garages, and they said it wouldn't make much difference.
-
Good idea! What sort of price would you be looking at?
-
Could be an airlock. With the engine cold, run the car up to temp with the expansion cap off. As it's warming up, give the hoses a good massage (oo-er!). Just remember to replace the cap once it's warmed up properly ;)

I've got a BMC CDA on mine- slight performance increase + sounds amazing 8) You should be fine as long as it's not an open cone filter and it's only lightly oiled :)
-
Thanks, Alex. Yep, it does sound with the horn removed. The relay is a good 'un. Actually tried two, just to be sure. You can here it clicking on and off when you press the horn (when the horns are unplugged). Wiring was my next port of call... hate wiring! :( Will have a good look tomorrow.

Yep, I've go the same Heku ones as Chris. They're great- take about 10 seconds to fit into the channel/under the rubber. The ebay seller gets them to you next day too 8)
-
At least it's working and not the other way around!
-
Nice one- they are great, aren't they?! Let me know if you want this moved over to the Member's Gallery- would be a nice start to your own gallery thread ;) Did you sell the 16v in the end- was interested when you had it for sale, but you seemed to drop off the radar for months! :)

This suddenly happened a couple of weeks ago. I've had to disconnect the horn plugs, because every time the ignition is turned on, the horns sound constantly. I've taken the steering wheel off, unplugged/inspected the connections, changed the relay, checked the fuse, tried one horn at a time and now I'm out of ideas. Please help!
-
To be honest, mate, that sounds about right for a VR6 idle. You always feel a faint judder in the seat of your pants () at idle, even though the needle may be stock still. Don't worry about it!

Thanks to smokey69 for picking up the bonnet on Sunday. Nice doing business with you- hope to see you at some local meets :)
