Driving home today, the revs started to occasionally blip + stereo stop + very slight alarm chirp at the same time. When I pulled into the drive, the car completely died. All electrics down, bar a very faint flicker of the handbrake light with the ignition fully turned. Checked all fuses and relays, battery connections, ECU plug etc - nothing amiss. Even though I didn't think it was the alternator or battery (my volt gauge is always around 12.5-13 volts) tried jumping the car from the vRS- nothing. Then, when I'd given up, the mileage etc had appeared on the clocks again. Quickly closed the window and popped the car into the garage. Seems like some connector has come loose- but where?! Apart from the ecu relay, ecu plug and battery cable, what else would have this effect? Could it be the ECU relay playing up? Would really appreciate any suggestions! :salute:

If it's the clip on the handle, then Gruvenparts do a billet replacement, that I'm sure will never ever break.

Yeh, you can buy the rubber cover from VW- think it's the same as the MK2.

Thanks, Andy :) Wind deflectors are the Heku ones off Ebay. Think they're around £30 delivered. Take a couple of minutes to fit. Love them- mean you can crack the windows open even in heavy rain 8)

Thanks, Jim. Yeh, love Speedies- just wish they were 16s though! I never look at my Solitudes and wish they were 16" if I'm totally honest. For some reason as I've moved onto VR ownership, big alloys have become totally unappealing to me and the original ones just look great. I half have my eye out for a set of original Estorils for the valver and I always HATED those... so I must be going through some kind of weird change ;) Know what you mean. Think I'd keep the Borbets over Estorils though! :lol: I'm tempted to get my Speedies refurbed in smoked chrome, if I can't find any Borbet Cs ;)

Are yours aftermarket? Standard ones should fit properly, although I always half tighten the bolts so I can make slight adjustments before replacing the rear panel. Think they are genuine but tinted, but will try the half tightening method. Cheers! :salute: Just remember to tighten them properly once you're happy :)

Yeh, reckon Babel could be cracking in the right position for the right club. Cole? First few months of last season (until he got injured) + the season before, he was unplayable at times and would've been worth £10m at the very least IMHO. At the mo, though, he's struggling a little and hasn't regained that form yet. He's not done any favours by our formation, where he's so isolated.

Thanks dude :) The C has a standard exhaust- the vRS has a Jetex downpipe/sports cat which is superb. I've been really impressed with the Jetex on CrazyDave's car- will prob get one for the C when my exhaust eventually falls apart ;) :lol: The Cole deal fell through at the last minute- something to do with not enough cash our way (+ Babel!). I would've taken a straight swap...
