  1. I have a TSR (made by Milltek) one on my 1.8 16v, and it used to make a horrible noise when pulling away quickly in first gear. Finally cured by changing the front and rear mounts to Vibratechnics mounts. The front mount on it's own didn't work, but is fine now since changing the rear one too. The old mounts were in decent condition- just not firm enough to stop the movement. Also, the gear cables were sat directly on top of it, and they melted through. The new cables are hooked out of the way (thanks DG Autotech for that idea :) ) and heatwrapped to stop this happening again. Gonna make myself a heatshield too (dunno how!)- it gets very hot and I don't want it killing my new rear mount :?
  2. Thanks, Jake. Got mine this morning- look really good :)
  3. Not daft! You can buy the poly stuff in a kit and pour it into the holes. A few 1.8T guys have done this with dogbone mounts etc.
  4. Not sure when they'll arrive... will kep ya posted :)
  5. If you want to give it a go, I've got a spare set on the way- only a couple of quid.
  6. Jake, not sure it would fit the Rado... had a look the other night and they'll defo go on my vRS, where they have the slots ready, but the Corrado ones were fitted differently :( Sounds like yours need to be stripped down (new seals and boots) + new handbrake cables (at least these are quite cheap and easy to do). Think Biggred even sell the pistons, as well as the seals. VW also do the seals.
  7. Thanks, matey. VW do 2 battery covers for the Rado. I went for the larger one just in case. There's a bit of room in there, but you can't tell once it's closed ;) Part no: 915 411B £19.94 (inc VAT + 15% discount ;) ) Got the quote from Multi-Tech in Gloucester, and that included fixing the bonnet ding. Didn't want to go to ColourTech- they'd do a fantastic job, but they would be very expensive- they quoted £395 just for the bonnet ding! Changed the expansion tank a few months ago- makes a huge difference to the engine bay. Think the sensor is knackered already though, unless it's the plug :(
  8. Those calipers look excellent- great price too! I know where to come when I need some :)
  9. Thanks for the car compliments, Jim :) I still love it, just seemed like a stupid amount of annoying niggles going wrong. Worst thing is I don't have the dosh to get the wing fixed- was quoted £287 yesterday :( I'll get there in the end...
  10. Well, was starting to lose the love. First I dinged the bonnet, then the other day someone whacked my o/s rear arch, and I can't find the culprit :( Then, fitted my black doorcards yesterday, and I broke 3 bits of trim. All small, cheap pieces, but FFS, give me a break! Then, washed it today and caught the towel on the corner of my rear 16v badge... crack! :( It was brand new... :bad-words: Anyway, finished :bad-words: drying it, stood back... and... what a lovely car! It's really peed me off lately, but it's gorgeous :luvlove: Here's a couple of pics of the new battery cover and the MK2 scuttle cover that a few people wanted pics of :)
  11. Same as Jim /\ Same happened to me on the way to a Stealth RR a couple of years ago :( Someone suggested unplugging the sensor on the left of the metering head. I drove it home with it unplugged (horrid to drive!), but the engine heat over the 1hr 30 min drive did the trick. I plugged the sensor back in once home, and the car was fine again
  12. It's worth checking all the earths, especially the one under the dash. Not totally sure where it is, but I need to have a look at mine too, as my revs blip when the wipers are on intermittant, and my MFA 2 resets itself randomly... and very occasionally, the revs and speedo go backwards!

    De-tinting?

Yeh, get some glass paint from a model shop- worked on mine.
  14. Chrome paint never look right imho. You're better off spraying ot black imho.

    De-tinting?

    Nail varnish remover ;)
  16. Nice work, Drew! That Phantom door looks feckin amazing! 8) What products do you use on the engine? Think I'm gonna have to get my manifold/rocker cover shot-blasted...
  17. Thanks for sorting these, Jacob :salute: Look great in the pics- thought they were meant to be at an angle though?!
  18. VDO gauges were an option on all Corrados, although they changed shape later. Sounds like someone has replaced bits of trim, as it should be the same colour throughout the car (platinum grey, black or beige).
  19. Yup, just take it to a custom exhaust place like Longlife or Powerflow, and they'll be able to do it easily.
  20. Yeh, they look good :) Checked my calipers, and they have the springs on the outside. The vRS has them internally, like in that Briskoda thread. Dont think you can buy them separately for the C :(
  21. Ouch- another load of dosh :( At least you know they'll be great for a few years :( though 8)
