No, it can only move so far. I can probably enlarge the holes though.

Thanks guys. Just moved the throttle switch forwards (good tip!), but it's still not quite touching. Will take it all apart and give it a good clean. Can you buy springs separately?

My 16v sometimes feels a bit like it wants to stall, rather like the old dip the clutch problem on the VR6. after some investigation, I've noticed that it usually won't return to the stopper, thus not activating the idle microswitch. The the cable may be knackered, so changed it tonight, and it still does it :bad-words: Took the top of the linkage apart, and it returns to the stop when the cable isn't attached. I've adjusted the cable with the little clip, and it makes no difference at all- still refusing to move the whole way. Just can't work out which bit is at fault. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Steve, how much had Gazman's VR done when he got rid? Thought it had bitten the dust (not registered on DVLA), but seems it's come back from the dead and has been taxed again 8)

Does the noise stop under braking?

Double check those caliper bolts! Sounds exactly like what you've described!
-
Just remember to keep the slider lever pulled when removing/putting back in ;)

You will get a bit of transmission whine/vibration from the mk 2 mount, but it's a good upgrade. I went for a standard mount from VW a few weeks ago pn: 357199381C (4 cyl), 3A0199402 (VR6) Also worth fitting new bolts while it's being done (Same on all models): N 0195334 (X2) N 10241603

I want to do this at some stage, as my double pulley is very rattly. You can also get the double pulley welded.

Could also be thermotime switch and or cold start injector.

That's a good philosophy to have- go get one! 8)

It's looking good as usual, Dave 8) VR, eh?

Worth checking- I've had this happen on 3 seperate Corrados- makes a very noticeable knocking when one of the bolts works loose/falls out. Is the circular weight OK on the driver's side driveshaft? Had these work loose before too- just secure it with a jubilee each side.

Check that the caliper bolts are all present and tight ;) Halfords sell them as a 'brake pad fitting kit' if you are missing one.

Should die when you unplug the maf. Sounds like the maf is knackered. Before you change it though, just check the wiring and clean the contacts on the maf connection/plug.

Got one of those- the previous owner ordered it from Europe without any probs.

Paul, really sorry to hear this news, mate :( Yet again, another reminder to live for the moment. Keep your chin up, matey.

Are the badges really 'uber rare' ? If so, i have some unused ones which may be winging their way onto the bay :D I've got some still in the pack in my room some where 8) Where did you get them, Jake? Fancy parting with them? :norty:

Are the badges really 'uber rare' ? If so, i have some unused ones which may be winging their way onto the bay :D Yep, I would keep 'em if I had any! They were an accessory for the C and were made obsolete years ago. Difficult to say how much they'd go for- anything from £5 up to £30 maybe?

Andy you been at this car as well   Oh, you're just hilarious!
