  1. Don't bother with the de-cat- doesn't gain anything on the VR. I'd start off with the breathing- get yourself a cold air intake. The BMC CDA is probably the best quality and will give you a good gain of 5-10bhp.
  2. Oops! corradostorm, could you post it up here? (As long as it's not Vicki's private email addy). There's probably quite a few people who need it at the mo' Ta.
  3. Try http://www.greenfilters.com - will be a bit more pricey, but they do loads of intakes etc to go with the ducting.
  4. Rica, Try: mailto:[email protected] The person you need to speak to is Vicki.
  5. They are really excellent- as Ford says- really cool in black. However- the interior is a bit tacky/plasticy. Think the price is fair enoungh for what you get. If I had the money, think it would be a tough choice between this and a Scoob STI - both would have to be black.
  6. It would be a real shame if the CCGB disappeared... however, it needs a complete re-vamp in order to survive. I've been a member for around 4 years, but like others, I haven't renewed this time around. What's the point? Think I got one Sprinter last year!? At the very least, everyone who paid their subs last year should be given free membership for this year. What's happened to all that money FFS! I can't be doing with all the stupid rivalry as well. We all love our Corrados! (Well, most of the time  ) Know I haven't said anything new, but wanted to voice an opinion.
  7. No need to remove the carbon canister! Takes about 2 minutes to relocate it :D Simply undo the screws, carefully pull the clear hoses out of their clips in the wing, and slot the carbon canister under the MAF. It's a perfect fit. Cable tie it in place (you'll need a long tie). Job done- and no need to worry about MOT etc and also no need for a breather filter.
  8. lexxuss, it's one of the wires on top of the rear engine mount. Can't tell exactly which one, because they've done a really good job of fixing it, and covered it in silicone sealant. Sorry I can't be more exact! The car feels like new now it's fixed :D
  9. would if I could, but I can't! The vRS is the perfect car for us- we need an estate, and out of the 'affordable but quick/reliable etc' cars out there it's miles ahead. The only others that come vaguely close are the Passat 1.8T (on the dull side, more expensive, slower etc) and the Rover ZT (over styled, poor mpg, reliability?). Contrary to what some have said the vRS residuals are also very good. With a turbo-back exhaust, CAI, ABD turbo elbow and Jabba remap it will be around 230bhp and quicker than my C. If you want to go the extra mile with FMIC, K4 turbo etc you're then over 250BHP and a bloody quick car! Obviously it won't have the kudos of a Corrado, but it's a damn good replacement.
  10. Andi, I see your point, but I don't feel that the C can carry on being a daily driver for too much longer without continual financial strain. We also need something more practical and I just feel like I want a newer car now. The vRS actually doesn't depretiate too badly (unlike other Skodas) and I'm not too bothered because we'd keep it for quite a while anyway. As Jim said, 4 year old cars with motorway miles have only just dropped to £6-7K. The vRS was so smooth- no rattles, very comfortable etc. Not as exciting as the VR6, but a very good compromise. I'd be able to drive around not worrying at every sound the car made. Bit of a stealth car too. 230BHP is easily attainable, and there are quite a few running 270BHP!
  11. Yeh, it was a relief- nice and cheap too :D (for once!).
  12. -good thinking Rodders  Have been doing the sums, and it will be pretty much impossible for us to run 3 cars (even though the C would become a weekend toy). We're moving in the summer and all the money is going on the new house and anything spare on the Octavia. I've considered doing a SORN, but either way I don't think we can manage without the money from selling the VR :? Thankfully the vRS isn't exactly dull
  13. Had a spin in one yesterday, and it totally made up my mind :) Will be definately getting one to replace the C in the autumn. Although the handling isn't quite as sharp and it doesn't have as much steering feel as the C, I was totally impressed. The interior is nice with plenty of toys, it drives sooo smoothly and it's bloody quick (nearly as quick as the VR in standard form!). Tuning potential is massive  and it looks great (especially in metallic black 8) ). At the risk of sounding old, it's a very comfortable car compared to the C. IMHO it's by far the best value performance car available. I'll be looking at a new or nearly new car for between £10 and 13K.
  14. Turned out to be a broken lambda sensor wire. All sorted :D
  15. Don't like doing this, but here goes :? Sold a Schabak G60 model to Danr on January 6th. He said he would pay by cheque. Cheque never arrived. OK, Royal Mail is pretty crap, so gave him benefit of the doubt. So, he said he'd send another. Didn't arrive. Said he'd send a third. Didn't arrive. Said he'd do a bank transfer. After several excuses, this didn't happen either. It's now March 24th and I still haven't had the money. I've got better things to do than chase around after this guy. I've been VERY patient with this, but have now decided to cancel the sale to Danr, and to put it up for general sale again.
  16. Love these, and that sounds like an excellent price- can't fit one though 'cos the last owner fitted a stupid mobile car kit, so there's a stupid aerial exactly where the spoiler would go!
  17. kevhaywire, yeh, only like last thing and funny break. He did indeed do Voodoo Ray (what a classic!). In the mid 90's he started doing some excellent intelligent D & B - Black Secret Technology is an excellent album. Apparently his new album is a bit more electro, which sounds cool- used to love those electro LP's back in the 80's. The Hub, yeh, came out a few months ago and it's worth buying. Have seen them 5 times and each one was fantastic. Agreed, Underworld are also brilliant live- saw them a few years back at Brixton Academy, and would like to see them again.
  18. Couldn't agree more! Love that Clarkson quote: "...looks like a dog taking a crap,"
  19. Nice- like a bit of D & B 8) Haven't really bought any for ages though. Kept meaning to buy Stakker vs Skynet- Clockwork, but could never find it anywhere :( Think the new A Guy Called Gerald album is supposed to be good. Kev, have you got the latest Orbital (Blue) album? A real return to form, if not a bit short. Wasn't too impressed with The Altogether. Like Brown Album and Insides best :D Shame they've called it a day- they were amazing live!
  20. At the mo' I'm listening to: Doves- Some Cities Bola- Gynase Beastie Boys- To the 5 Boroughs The Black Dog- Spanners Mansun- Kleptomania Motion Picture Soundtrack (my mates band- looks like they're starting to go places! Check 'em out at http://www.motionpicturesoundtrack.com )
  21. Much prefer the originals. Don't really see the point of badging a car with stuff from other marques/models :? Looks a bit naff when a C is kitted out in Wolfsburg, Porsche and Audi badges etc IMHO.
  22. Thanks Kev. Will give it a go asap.
