Right, have just ordered a set of Pagid Fast Road pads from GSF. I know they've had a couple of negative comments :? , but a lot of people have praised them too :D Should think they'll go perfectly with the Pagid discs too. Only £43 for 4 :D Thanks for all you tips/advice 8) And yes Chris, I think we were all thankful they were working well that day....

Dark blue with 17's driving towards Halfords in Guildford on Sunday - think it was an M reg- could be wrong cos I was quite far back :? . Also silver 16v parked in Guildford Sunday. Black N-reg VR driving towards Dover on the A2 this morning- overtook you, then you passed me when I turned off for Canterbury :D

Cheers for all the comments guys! :D Still undecided though :? Checked my pads, and there's still plenty of wear left- is it OK to leave them on when I replace the discs, or should I replace the lot? I'd rather leave the pads as I'm a bit skint at the mo! Thanks

Thera, Have you tried Adrian Flux? I was with Elephant, but they wanted £700 for 10 month bonus accelerator without any claims protection :? After loads of phoning around, Flux offered me £570 for 12 months with full no claims protection! :D Apparently they class the VR as group 16! I've got 3 points, 4 yrs NCB, car is CAT1 and garaged. HTH

Interesting stuff! Welcome to the forum by the way :D Best option for cold air is probably a vent in the wing.... 8) I'd love one, but it's not a cheap option :( Would like to give a heatshield a go though- anyone got any more info?
-
Brian, What didn't you like about them?

You've made the right choice :D 8) Think the difference is that a Corrado is a dedicated sports car, the CRX is more of a hot version of another model (a good 'un though!). A VR6 is a bit of a muscle car really. You'll really notice the difference when you've got other people in the car, and also in 3rd gear at 80mph+ (on a private road of course!).

Just after some quick feedback: want some cheap but good pads to compliment my new Pagid 8-Groove discs (front) which I should be fitting next week sometime. So far Pagid Fast Road seem the best option- under £50 for 4 from GSF. Others are: EBC Kevlar - £25 front only EBC greenstuff - £35 front only What should I go for? Cheers

Joe M, Yeh, when I bought mine the maf wasn't fitted correctly. I think the actual pipe it's fitted into was fitted back to front :? Took 3 garages and a lot of money to work this out! AmD sorted it in about 5 minutes... Can't understand the probs with the K & N- mine is running really sweet- smooth, quick acceleration, excellent throttle response and an absolutely awesome noise! Wouldn't mind another drive in a standard VR though, to see if there is any difference (apart from the noise!).

K-reg G60, silver parked in Troutbeck rd, New Cross at the weekend.

Corrado every time! Had a Civic VTI (EG shape)- really nice car, very fast to 70mph etc, and VTEC was fun. BUT: no torque- it slowed to a crawl after 70mph, no feel- very soulless :? Glad I changed back to a Corrado  :D 8)

Really easy to do yourself. Take off the lights. Sand down the lettering (not completely though- got a feeling you need the lettering for legal reasons?) Clean thoroughly with white spirit. Mask off any areas you don't want tinted. Spray several thin coats, making sure you let the paint dry thoroughly between each one. Spray 3-4 coats of laquer- I found it better to spray the laquer quite thickly to get an even coat. Make sure you have a bottle of nail varnish remover handy in case you go wrong  All in all, it takes a couple of hours. HTH

Kev, Glad it's sorted :D Mine hasn't done it since, so I'll wait and see before parting with my hard earned dosh. Sounds like it's kinda worth replacing the ISV anyway though.
-
Cheers Joe, I'll give it a go when I get a minute :D
-
Joe M, How do you do an ECU reset? Do you have to go to VW? Cheers
-
Cheers guys. My symtoms sound identical to yours Kev. Let me know how you get on with the damper. How much is a new ISV? Might give mine a good old clean.

My Valver was lowered about 40mm and had a 90mm spoiler which was torn to shreds and caught on everything  Changed for a 50mm spoiler and never had another prob :D Well worth doing IMHO.

Just when it was running really sweet..... Basically the car has started stalling in the mornings. It starts fine, and drives fine until I stop at a junction or something, then it sometimes just goes completely dead  It restarts fine though, and then drives perfectly! What's going on? Cheers!

Stu, seems like it! I've heard about prices for other things also that have a huge discrepancy with prices I've been quoted- thankfully all in my favour :D Does seem strange though.....£192 is a complete rip off!

Barney, Went to VW and the bit I need is an 'additional' water pump. It's around £60 :? , but looks easy enough to fit myself :) Cheers
-
Got any pics of this? Got coolant leaking out of the cylindrical thing at the back right of the engine- sound like the same thing, directly behind the coil pack- is this the oil cooler or water pump? Is it easy to replace? Cheers!

Yeh, that could be me  :D You've seen me then? I'll keep an eye out for you :D -
You can make sure by getting the VIN no. from the owner, or by doing a data check. Get VW to run it through their computer, and they'll be able to tell you if it's definately a Storm :D
