  1. With Alex on this one- go for a Civic hatchback, make sure it's a VTEC. As long as it's got FSH nothing will go wrong with it. One to go for IMHO is the 1991-95 EG shape- here's a pic of my old VTI.
  2. Try http://motorsportworld.co.uk Powerchips for £150 with a 10 BHP increase for the 2.0 16v :) Brilliant site for other stuff too!
  3. Yeh, been wondering about that too! Still no joy with the old VTR?
  4. I paid just under £60 for mine in the summer (had CCGB discount too :) )- really easy to change too.
  5. Evo, VW Motoring and occasionally Top Gear, PVW, The Golf, Car, Autocar etc.
  6. VR6, 30 yrs old, 4 yrs no claims, 3 points, garaged, K & N induction kit, 16" alloys, tinted lights, NCB protection, Fully comp, £570- Adrian Flux (they also gave me CCGB discount :D 8) )

    vr midrange?

Cheers Kev, Think I'll give it a go (when I get some spare time!!!). Sounds well worth the bother. Just hope it's none of the other probs mentioned - maybe I'll get them checked out first to be sure.

    vr midrange?

Hmmm, just what I wanted to hear :? :( I seem to be losing some coolant as well- have to top up weekly- can't find a leak anywhere though... :?
  9. Yeh, get your priorities right- what a state!  Brilliant job though 8)

    vr midrange?

Kev, been thinking of doing the oil cooler thing for a while (my car is always 115-122 at 80+) - what mocal parts are needed? Had a look at their website, and was completely bamboozled :? Is it difficult to do? I'm bound to balls it up! Cheers
  11. Good stuff, Kev! 8) How about a step by step guide? :D
  12. Dark blue M reg- think it was a VR near West station Canterbury. Had clear/red inpros. Nice car 8) Anyone?
  13. Just try as many different ones as you can :D I had nothing but probs from my G60, but loved it all the same (as well as hating it!). Go for as new a car as poss too, so fewer things will need replacing. Personally I'd go for a VR.
  14. 2.0 16v has ABS but not traction control. It's only the VR that has traction control (although you wouldn't know it most of the time! :? ) I sometimes get wheelspin in 3rd gear!
  15. LOL  Seriously though, it looked like it'd been built by the kids in my DT class :? Was my fav car as a kid though :) Yeh, the TVR was simply stunning- those central bonnet vents must open at speed 8) Gotta say also how dreadful the finish on the Nissan 350Z was! It was possibly the tackiest car I've ever sat in :( Looks great from a distance and I'm sure it's a superb drive but I was really disappointed. Not a patch on the quality of the RX8. As for the Ferarris.... amazing build quality- interiors were gorgeous- by far the best (should be for that dosh though!).
  16. Went today, and it was superb! The new TVR is stunning! 8) Amazing how crappy the Lambo Countach is close up! :?
  17. Loves: Spoiler 8) Body lines and stance  V6 roar with induction kit 8) Q-car factor/ not many around 8) Speed  Hates: Sunroof  Running costs :( Headlamps  Annoying problems that happen just when you've got the car running really sweet  :?
  18. Nothing comes close! Just look at those lines! From the side of the bonnet all the way up to the spoiler- perfect from every angle :D 8)

    VW Mats

Pretty sure they're still available, although I think someone keeps buying loads to sell on ebay   The old VW mats had the embroidered Corrado logo, whereas the newer VW replacements have the logo printed on, and like Jim says pretty poor for the money! :(
  20. VW specialist checked it out- no play in any of the suspension, all bushes, tie rods etc in perfect shape. Mechanic reckons it's my directional tyres  He said they have a lot of people complaining about handling, tracking etc and it's always the directional tyres :? Hopefully he's right... any chance it could be the camber?
  21. Had one in my 2.0 16v- got it from Motorsportworld.co.uk and it arrived within a couple of days :D
  22. Good stuff! Let's hope that's all it is then - I'll book it in asap, and let you know how I get on :)
  23. Kev, Against the rack. Bet this would be a pain in the backside to do! Looks like I'll have to get it booked in somewhere- it's really starting to get on my nerves.
  24. The 2.016v is very slightly slower to 60mph than the 1.816v, but is more torquey and pulls better, especially at higher speeds. The 2.0 is usually gp17 insurance though :? , whereas the 1.8 is usually 15. Personally, I went for the 2.016v simply because it was newer and post face lift (more modern interior and front end, ABS). Best thing would be to drive as many as you can before buying
