He he- I know Novas aren't really worth the bother, but sometimes you just have to do it  Nice one Jim! Really annoying though when someone's trying it on and the car's cold
-
Hammered a Teg in my VR- he was tailgaiting all the traffic in front at a bout 70mph, kept my distance until road was clear in front of him, then went for it. He was so annoyed that he couldn't get away- refused to move over and started throwing rubbish out of the window at me! Eventually overtook and left him miles behind  :D By the way, my VTI-S has a LSD and strut braces as standard 8) :D

Sorry mate!!! Heh heh    . I'll join Rodders and get my coat too....
-
Rodders, check out GazG60's thread.....and get yer coat on the way out :D
-
Rodders, think you're right....my memory's not quite what it used to be

Think there was..... something to do with dropping a Golf or Scirocco from a plane? e.g. 'Previously the only way to get to 130mph in a VW was by dropping one out of a plane.....until now!!!

That's one nice mota! Really pleased for you mate- what was the insurance like?
-
Brilliant, mate! :D Bet you're buzzing and can't wait to drive every day... 8)

Jim, I'll try to make it to CCGB day in the summer, although I will probably have to save face by parking away from you Corrado boys  . Can't wait to see your new baby- you'll have to take me for a spin! Gonna be a very busy year for me though- married in May, hopefully moving in the summer and starting a new job in September! Totally feel the same as you about the C- no other car interests me as much and as you say, the community is excellent! :) Honda Revolutions is pretty good too, but is a little too big and impersonal compared to the forum and Yahoo group. I'd like to get another G60 in a few years, just as a weekend car 8) We'll have to wait and see....

I know I'm late, but well done matey!!! :D Sounds like a superb mota- worth the long wait! Completely jealous.... Really really pleased for ya :D

]What VTEC kick? I honestly can't detect it. All that happens when the hi-lift cams kick in is extra noise and vibration. Tiring? I was bored after 10 mins during my Civic Type R test drive..... Think Jedi has explained it. It was very noticable on my old 1.6 VTI (B16 engine), and less so on my current 1.8 (B18), although it still does have quite a high end kick (from 5.5K revs), and if you can keep it in the zone it's a very quick car indeed  BUT, as I said before it can become tiring trying to keep it in the zone- not exactly power on demand :?

Eug, Wasn't there an installation cert with all the paperwork I gave you? :? My insurance company were happy when I told them I had a factory fit CAT-1 :) . Glad you found the service book BTW! :) Hope it's in a safe place now

Well, for value for money and reliability a standard Prelude or 200SX would be my choice. The Touring 200SX is really well kitted out, rear wheel drive etc, v. reliable, v.quick, understated and mean looking (97 on). Prelude would have the Honda reliability, looks good, VTEC kick etc, but VTEC's can become tiring day to day (I should know  ) HOWEVER, overall I would definately go for the Corrado VR6! Wonderful driver's car, creamy V6 that sounds awesome, rare, etc etc. Supra twin turbo would be awesome, but would have stupid insurance and if anything went wrong it would cost a fortune. Not really an everyday sports car either (if that's what you're after). 406 is nice looking, but a bit dull and there's quite a few around. FTO is a looker but apparently the build quality is slightly lacking to say the least!

Gotta say, after sitting in a 350Z at MPH motor show, I was very disappointed with the interior/finish. Very cheap and nasty compared to the TT and RX8. Stunning from the outside though, and amazing performance (apparently!).

Dark blue VR, think it was a K reg turning out of Esso in Wincheap, Canterbury tonight, tea time. I let you out, and you gave me a wave.
-
 Yeh, had thought about a 300....briefly! Love 'em (esp black 8) ), but reckon running/maintenance costs could be rather large. Advantage of the 200SX is that they are quite new.
-
£2.5 K - has it got FSH?
-
Cheers bud - still on cloud 9 :) Yep, they are an all round excellent package and much better equipped than the C, all for a similar price. Agree, running costs and insurance would be pretty much identical, but the overall upkeep should be quite a bit less. Had my eye on a black 'touring' 1997 with 120k and full Nissan SH- for £3.5 k! Guy said he sold it straight away though. Gonna keep my eyes peeled for another one. They can be modded really well too (stupid BHP available   ), but I'd have to wait a while before I'd be able to do anything like that, cos I'm mega skint! :( I'll probably change my mind again next week

Jim, I absolutely love the VR and would ideally keep it forever, but I got engaged at Christmas, will be married in May, so money's really tight. Want something with similar spec, but something a little newer and more reliable (although the VR has been pretty reliable so far!). Don't really know what to do to be honest- still weighing up all the possibilities! Think it would be pointless to take the same route as before, as I got completely fed up with the civic very quickly (how you feel now I suspect!). So, think I need something that's going to be similar to a C- always liked the new shape 200SX, and they're really well kitted out (airbags, leather, A/C etc) so they look like the next best thing to a C for similar money. We'll see!
-
Thanks Kev. Was possibly thinking about getting a later shape 'Touring' model in black. I've heard they're v.reliable and are v.similar speed-wise to the VR. Can also fit a dump valve...

Anybody ever driven a Nissan 200SX? Any good? Any thoughts?
-
Think they're superb! A possible future car for me too. Would love a drive in one (have only driven a TDI).
-
Think they were an option on M and N reg's. Not totally sure though!
-
Check all the hoses too. My 2.0 16v started to do this, and I traced it to a split rubber pipe coming off the ISV. Got a new hose for a couple of quid- cured!

chris Corrado, nah, never got round to it, and now I've got a VR I don't need one ;-)
