Give all of the hoses a thorough check. My first 16v used to do exactly this, and I found one of the ISV hoses was slightly split. Changed it for a couple of quid and 5 mins of my time and it was running beautifully :) 8)
-
Saw a green L reg C in Faversham this morning. Gave me a wave :) 8) think it was a VR.
-
Interesting. Have read before that VW were going to use the 150 BHP MK3 engine in the 16v until they decided to axe the C. They were also gonna give more valves to the VR to take it over 200 BHP. Shame we never saw any of this :(

Best I ever got was 53mpg in my G60  Drove about 20 miles at a pretty constant 50mph, didn't brake too much and just coasted along! Motorway runs 75-80mph: G60- 35-38 mpg 2.0 16v (first one  )- 37-41 mpg VR6- 30- 34 mpg 2.0 16v (so far) - 35-38 mpg. Altogether not too bad. The VR was apalling around town though!
-
Saw another today- that's 4 in all! Green L-reg VR6 parked in Wincheap, Canterbury.
-
Erm, concorde?! They sound amazing   - heard one on the rollers at AmD a while back.
-
3 today! :D Dark blue J-reg G60 parked in a small car park off Old Dover Road, Canterbury. Nice leather int 8) , stainless exhaust, Jabba sticker in window and ....Kompressor badge on the rear. Nice mota. Green driving up the A2 between Faversham and Canterbury. Black VR6 driving out of Faversham towards A2 roundabout/Canterbury. All at around 12.30 today. Common as muck these Corrados

Kvwloon, cheers for that, will check later :) How much did it cost to fix? Brian, unfortunately I sold the VR- 'cos I'm getting married and it cost sooo much to run. Wish I'd kept it now as I've had nothing but probs with cars since :? The VR's also been written off.... How's the G60? Thought about getting another, but bought a lovely 16v instead to tide me over :) Cheers
-
 Nah, different to that one! Quite difficult to tell exactly whether it's compression or recovery. Probably a bit of both :? Mark, definately from the springs outside- with the windows down it's really obvious. I'll try some lube! Looking good for a de-cat, although I'm gonna do a bit more research  Cheers
-
Nice one guys! :D I'll phone some garages first to double check, then if I get the OK the cat's coming off
-
I know this has been covered before, but there always seems to be some confusion over the exact dates. My car was first registered on 30/12/1992. My cat is really rattly and I was wondering if I could de-cat? Anyone? Cheers
-
Right, here goes- my first prob with my new C (sigh  ): Every little bump I go over the car squeeks. Didn't really notice at first, but since it's been warm I've been driving with the windows down and it's actually quite loud. I've got to sort it 'cos it's doing my head in! The car is fitted with FK Konigsport coilovers and 17" Stilauto alloys. The ride is fine, the car brakes well and doesn't pull in any odd directions- there don't seem to be any other symptoms of the squeeking. Any ideas? Cheers Andy
-
Could be discs, could also be the wheels. Have you got aftermarket alloys? Had some 17's on my VR when I bought it and the judder was terrible. Took it to a garage and they said they had the wrong spigot rings. Didn't like the wheels anyway, so changed them- no more judder.

Mystic Blue Storm, drove past me (I was parked on the left) near Guildford train station on Friday evening around 5 o'clock. Seem to see this car every time I go to Guildford, unless there's more than one! Sherry red L-reg 16v parked in Guildford centre near Zizzi and Pizza Express Friday night.
-
Could someone give me an idea of the value of my C?
CazzaVR replied to Steve&Claire's topic in General Car Chat
Yep, £2.5K. Nice colour 8) -
If your budget is 2K then go for a decent 1.816v. You will be very lucky to get a good G60 or 2.016v for that money.

Like 'em. Nice car, supposed to be pretty torquey too, which is a nice change for a Honda. Only ever seen a couple in the flesh- the old shape is rare enough! Why Honda aren't selling them is a mystery.... it's like Toyota cancelling the Celica 'cos they were scared it would affect sales of the Corolla T-Sport :? The 'teg looks sooooo much nicer than the Civic Type-R. IMHO of course.
-
Agree with Nige about the 350Z- really tacky inside. Shame. Way too many RX8's around now. Leon Cupra-R or low milage late 200SX would be my choice. After nearly buying an SX and test driving some, they are really excellent cars, and the tuning potential is enormous!
-
Remember reading somewhere that in 1995 the VR was given a slightly wider track and a minor remap. Not sure about this though :?
-
Know y'all talking Type R's, but gotta say my 1.8VTI-S (which is quite similar) pulls pretty well from standstill, and in all gears too (- it has around the same torque as the 2.0 16v C which ain't bad after all). When the VTEC kicks in it's pretty awesome too- the sound is absolutely incredible- but only because of the cold air intake I have on it   It doesn't sound particularly good as standard. As said earlier though, it can become very tiring to drive fast- unlike a G60 or VR
-
Exactly! And that awful body design
-
Think you're all being a bit unfair.... always quite liked them. They're quite rare, look quite nice (although starting to show their age), v. reliable and pretty quick (although wouldn't get near a VR!). They're related to the Probe which was horrendous, but don't have any of the bad stuff the Probe had. One of the best 1990's coupes IMHO (along with the C and 200SX of course  ) He'd have to get a black one though 8)

Two yesterday afternoon about 4ish- both heading away from Deal towards Sandwich: Dark blue Dragon green. One today on the M25 anticlockwise- dark blue, looked like a Milltek stainless exhaust, think you turned off towards Dartford/Gravesend.
-
Yeh, it is a shame :( Apparently VW were going to give the 16v the same 150bhp engine as the Golf, and they were also going to improve the V6- can't remember exactly how- more valves maybe? They shelved all this though when they decided to discontinue the model :( Muppets!

White 16v parked up on the side of the road near Westgate, Canterbury last week. Black 16v heading westbound towards Swindon on the M4 Saturday lunchtime. The 16v badge was above and in the middle over the Corrado badge. Dark blue (dunno what model) heading westbound towards Slough Saturday afternoon.
