  1. They look brilliant! Had a pair of Red-eared terrapins when I was a kid. Also saw a massive terrapin in the lake at a local park a few months ago- quite a surprise
  2. Impressive. Most impressive! Would also love to get a marine system set up, but there are so many uncertainties + it would be £££. That pond is fisherman's heaven!
  3. The a-pillars have the one tiny hole where the alarm sensors were mounted. Vizors are yours mate. I'll pm you details :)
  4. Think they've all gone mate. I'll check with Vornwend as he had them...
  5. Don't think so mate. Some people have had them made up out of stainless.
  6. Badges, interior/exterior trim, lights, switches.
  7. 4 X Columbian Tetra 1 X Gold Neon Tetra 6 X Cardinal Tetra 5 X Ember Tetra 1 X Leopard Plecostomus Would like to get some Black Emperor Tetras and some Angels at some point :)
  8. Check the fuses. The plug at the back may have become slightly dislodged with the jolt. This happened on mine and made all sorts of strange things happen- I thought it was the alternator packing up, but turned out the plug on the back of the clocks wasn't pushed in all the way.
  9. Are all the mounts done up nice and tightly? Put the handbrake on, car into first and lift clutch to biting point. Repeat on/off several times. You will notice any excess movement by doing this. Easier with someone else to do the clutch work, but you can do it on your own as you can see the top of the engine from the driver's seat through the windscreen and under the open bonnet. Maybe worth undoing the mount top bolts and jacking a few mm, lowing down onto the mounts again and leaving to idel for a while before tightening back up. This will allow them to settle into position properly. Only other thing is maybe it's not idling great. Mine was a bit like this as I had a knackered stat that wouldn't let the engine water temp go above 80 C long enough to adapt the idle. It had lots of vibration similar to your vid. I changed the stat, ran up to temp and then disconnected the battery for a few mins. Then reconnected and took for a drive, stopping to idle for a couple of mins halfway through. Now idles as smooth as anything, and that's with front/rear poly mounts and a solid MK2 Golf diesel mount.
  10. Well done on the MOT pass matey. Obviously a well looked after mota ;) Tony, looks very nice! 8) Don't let him influence you any more- next up you'll be buying a 16v Corrado that doesn't work...
  11. Your car is gonna fly! Need to get my injectors done at some point, although I was thinking of treating the car to an internal clean courtesy of Bananaman.
  12. Pete, how much do Stealth charge for the box? Have you had a full rebuild? Coullstar, G60 3rd sounds like a good idea! Get it done ;) 8)
  13. Vento Cups- still on the lookout for a set. Just can't find any :(
  14. That poor green VR hasn't moved for over 2 years :( Pass it every day to/from work.
  15. Well got the newly rebuilt gearbox fitted last night! Firstly, huge thanks to Lewvw & his mate Steve for fitting it all- I was left quite redundant as the guys set about changing the boxes. Lew also had his nose split open by a falling starter motor- looks like he's been boxing (should of taken a pic ). Got started at around 5:30pm. Once all the ancillaries were removed, the box was ready to come off, although it took quite a lot of persuasion! Once it was off, we filled it with Castrol Syntrans Synth oil and swapped the shift tower from my existing box as we knew it was working perfectly. Also swapped the speed sensor over. Also fitted a new release bearing and fork (would be silly not to). No need to change the clutch as it was fitted by Stealth a few thousand miles ago and still looked brand new. Next up we changed the gearbox mount for a MK2 Goof Diesel mount. The old one was the original and the rubber was perishing quite badly. Then the new box was fitted. Thankfully it went on easier than the old one came off! We fitted a gearbox support bracket I had lying around. Not sure why they weren't fitted to the very late cars, but thought it may as well go on! Everything was bolted up to the correct torque (Lew somehow has them all stored in his head!) and all the top parts were assembled. Finally, the battery was refitted and it was crunch time... hopefully not literally! It didn't want to go into 1st or 2nd at all. The others were OK, but not nice and smooth. 1st and 2nd went with a little persuasion, but still not right. After a phone call to Mart (Hotgolf, who built the box), we gave the cables some adjustment, and hey presto! Into gear fine, and just got better the more I drove it as the oil worked into the synchros. Right, first impressions! Took a few minutes to REALLY notice the changes. The more I drove, the more the differences became apparent. 1st, 2nd and 3rd feel noticeably quicker. 2nd is savage! The car is much quicker on the uptake- hard to describe, but it just feels more alive and eager. It improves the all round driveability of the VR and still feels completely OEM, which is mainly why I didn't go for a lightened fly at the same time. I use the car daily and just felt it would spoil the balance of the car slightly- I wanted to keep the OEM driveability. I am slightly disappointed in 5th- there is an improvement, but not as much as the other gears, however it's early days. I'll be out in it again today ;) I would totally recommend getting this done. It's a perfect upgrade for a VR. Don't expect charger or turbo differences, just expect your car to feel fully awake! 8) ---------- Post added at 9:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 9:01 AM ---------- On the downside, discovered my stat housing has a slight leak and the rad elbow is also weeping slightly. Luckily I have a brand new elbow that I'll swap over today.
  16. I know, would be great to have someone close. My vRS wheels need some attention. They're pretty flexible. Mine took around a week, but they were particularly busy. They're usually around 2-4 days AFAIK. Paid on collection.
  17. Good grief! This is what I've had: 15" Sebrings 15" BBS RZ 15" BBS RZ 15" Ronal Westwood 15" VR6 Speedlines 15" VR6 Speedlines 15" VR6 Speedlines 15" BBS Solitude 15" BBS Solitude 16" Team Dynamics Mirage 16" BBS VZ (current wheels) 16" BBS RX2 17" Momo Sport 17" Kahn RSR 17" Kahn RSS 17" Stilauto ? Pretty unspectacular compared to yours! Edit: forgot about the 17" Stilautos- can't remember exactly what they were, but they look like BBS RXs. Very nice wheels.
  18. Baz, yep got them back a while ago. They did a very good job as they were pretty tatty. One had quite a chunk out of the rim. You can still notice where it was, but they did a good job with it. Also got rid of a lot of kerbing 100% which I was a little aprehensive about. One of the wheels has some strange 'roughness' in a couple of places, which could easily be flatted back if I could be bothered. Here's a pic of one:
  19. Looking excellent there. Will get myself some Black Hole- lots of people seem to be very impressed with it 8)
