  1. i`m no expert on the mk4 rear brakes but think its just mk4 calipers and pads and normal discs..?

    Under bonnet grommet

    famous dealer word used....obsolete..lol
  3. used a new product called gtechnic p1 and p2,they sell it as a system but i used my own pads which is why i think it didn`t give the results i wanted..? i ended up finishing with autosmart mirror image by hand and its nearly finished now, just got to seal the paint and wax to build up the gloss and protection
  4. quick fix is a £28 sensor off ebay then i`d buy another rear beam and build it up off the car ready to swap over...after all your hard work you dont want to take the car off the road again for how ever long.. as far as upgrade`s i`d stick to mk4 rears as they seem perfect for most on here with bigger power..just use better pads and good fluid./

    Under bonnet grommet

no a grommet that sits in the bonnet.
  6. Brakes all sorted now, had new fluid done at vw and all set costing £49 which saved me alot of hassle... will replaced front discs and pads next to improve overall braking.. Have been struggling since the respray to get the paint how i want it with very small amount of swirls still showing in extreme sunlight..managed to get them sorted now just having to use different combinations of pads/compounds and final correction by hand. Few pictures of my hard work..lol.. still for sale but no one seems to even want to look at it.. not dropping the price though.
  7. not the best picture but need one of these grommets..
  8. another one...just admit defeat and sell it to me... you know it`ll go to a good home
  9. Glass out,4 screws out, small screw under the mirror which is normally rusted then jiggle about to remove..as said awkward due to brittle parts
  10. any news..? are you taking it to elsecar..?
  11. lets see what good old vw can do..lol
  12. Defeated by the brakes, have tried several times to bleed the system and to no avail..!! ****ed off with jacking each side up so off to vw for full fluid change and let them struggle..!!!
  13. all sorted thanks to chris.. need another sensor now..!!
  14. Well started the rear brakes and to be fair everything has gone wrong..!! was only going to clean the calipers and fit new discs but as we all know with corrados that is never enough.. So new discs/abs rotors/bearings/dust shields ect.. anyhow its nearly done just bleed the brakes and clear the abs sensor light after having to replace one/... Overall looks ok but i`m never fully happy, would of rather bought new brakes but trying to be sensible with funds..

    abs light

yeah opposite the football pitch`s..do you have vagcom to clear it...???? it`d be a great help sk14 4fy

    abs light

Yes another question..!! but just to confirm that when you replace a sensor you have to clear the code on the ecu and it will not just clear itself..?
  17. I`ve just had to replace an abs sensor while doing my brakes and need vagcom or code reader to clear the fault. Does anyone in and around hyde/manchester have one so i can do it while the car is off the road...? andy b 07799865916
  18. what shows are you doing mate..? you still got the mk1..?
  19. i`m with footman james, 3000mile policy with agreed valuation and including wheels ect.. £240 fully comp
  20. just count your fingers after you do this... you`ll be missing one or two..!!!
  21. Do you need to strip them completely..? pistons out ect ..? anything to consider when blasting and coating them..?
  22. Got the new bearing kit and it doesn`t have a part in it.. its the furthest left of the picture and fitted on after the dust shield... what is it and what does it do...
