Yep, that's a LOT! Ive had the AA out once in entire time of ownership (ca 9y) and that was due to a blow out that wrapped tyre shreds around axle so not strictly a mechanical issue...

Parts of that are true, irrelevant but partially true. If you are pushing your car, with the keys in, you could be deemed in control of it. However if you are pushing a car, someone else is sitting in the driving seat, you wouldn't be deemed in control of it would you, they would. In the same way if you are a passenger in a car, someone else is in the driving seat, you wouldn't ordinarily be deemed in control of it would you. THEY WOULD, the person in the driving seat, the one at the controls, the one who put the keys in the ignition etc. A complicated point that many seem to be struggling with...

I think there in lies the answer to our discussion. As mentioned in the Toyota recall thread, the press often (always???) reports in such a way as to 'enhance' the worthyness of a story. We are not in possesion of the full facts. I still stand by my comment that although there is a huge amount of inconsistency with sentances I feel that, from what has been reported, he did have some level of responsibility. And yes, if an elderly relative of mine continued to drive after I thought was safe I would approach the subject. That is not to say I would take their car keys off them but neither would I actively encourage them to drive. Wow...reasoned debate... Not sure how to handle that anymore :D Yep, all good points we genuinely don't know the full details. And yes he shouldn't ask someone to drive who is clearly incapable but then we don't know that she was clearly incapable either... Yep.. The TVR really is awesome to drive and the sound is (dare I say) even better than the VR6.. But... I want the, both!!! Now stamping my feet like an eight year old! The cost of having both is quite high though.... TVRs aint exactly reliable and the C is getting on a bit now bless her...

I really am getting cold feet about selling the Corrado.. Have now had the replacement car for 3 weeks and haven't even organised the MOT for the Rado yet... And then I see threads like this.... Look in my garage and see the sweet black leather interior and come over all warm and fuzzy... I should have kept those bloody porsche seats, brought your centre console (think it was yours??) and just got stuck in... A life without the Rado beckons and it aint looking good...

When all the pissed people stop fecking driving. here here!!! Feckers deserve to get thrown in jail for many years! Should NOT matter if they actually have an accident or injure anyone either... Think about it, if a terrorist was to take an AK47 and randomly shoot up the high street (any high street) but happened to not kill/injure anyone surely he would have to go to prison? Is there any difference between this and drink driving?
