We're both right :)

I didn't use C and D. I used the original cap and threaded bar and used F.

Shuan, if you want to retain the factory heat exchanger you need part F. This fits on the vw cap, then you screw the threaded bar onto it. The bit you have is the one pictured below and is used when you delete the heat exchanger.

Water pump, Oil pump, Chain and what else
corradovr6sc replied to the punisher's topic in Engine Bay
Change the clutch, thermostat housing/water transfer pipe, oil cooler seals and 2 pipes which go from the transfer pipe to the oil cooler. -
No problem mate, the helicoil should work fine.

As I understand it the actual bolts which hold the charger in place don't have to be touched. All the adjustment is through s/c tensioner pulley. The chassis rail has to be modified with an angle grinder to give enough clearance for the tensioner pulley to be adjusted fully.

I think he's a private seller. Can you even see his feedback? Don't pay him.

That guy is definitely dodgy. Isn't he the same ebayer who sold the 24v engine to the double-6s on the forum?

Zender Supercharger? Anyone shine some light on them?
corradovr6sc replied to young lad's topic in Engine Bay
idler pulley/s, alternator bracket, spacer, s/c mounting bracket, hoses, clamps, bolts, belt, software etc. Some of the prices are on the mcracing website. If you piece it together separately you'll spend a fortune. -
Zender Supercharger? Anyone shine some light on them?
corradovr6sc replied to young lad's topic in Engine Bay
That's not particularly cheap and remember thats just for the actual supercharger. You still need all the other bits to make it work ££££ -
Agree with that. Never buy it. Their technical information is often wrong too.

In answer to the thread title, it is the new mod for me and tbh I'm really enjoying it. Never thought I'd say it, but my car seems a lot smoother and less frantic without the s/c which kind of suits my style of driving these days. I've got some decent ride quality back with the 15" alloys too. I'm now thinking that you can go a bit far with the mods and it's best to stick to small mods which give big improvements.

Watch that nasty crest at Schwedenkreuz (where that Corrado crashed recently) and don't time yourself, well not for the first few laps anyway

I've got a brand new vw cam sender wheel you can have for £5 posted.

Good episode and I could have gone to seen the action live as I was working in Leek that day which is only a few miles from where they were filming at Rudyard Lake. If only I'd known! Don't know who was planning the route that day but they were going in totally the wrong direction most of the time and did a small tour of Stoke/Newcastle before finally arriving at their destination.

I sometimes get that but if I try a differnt version it usually gets through in the end.

VR6 - exhaust silencers and cams and remap question
corradovr6sc replied to matth76's topic in Engine Bay
My mate had a straight through exhaust system (with the suitcase silencer removed) on his Jetta vr6 and it was pretty loud. Made a nice burble at the rear silencer though :) Can't tell whether it increased hp and if it did it was only minimal so I'd leave it alone. -
dubvrs I can scan your ecu if you want. Send me pm if your interested.

Raceland or OBX do stainless steel vr6 manifolds for about £180. They're not specified for the Corrado but I'm sure the'd fit ok.
-
There seems to be a lot of moonlight blue vr6s for sale too. Mine might be joining them soon.
-
If its made by Sachs its ok but whatever you do don't get one made by Luk. If you don't want to take any chances get a VAG clutch.

Good Bodyshop in the Manchester/Cheshire Area ??
corradovr6sc replied to CHRIS_G60's topic in Suppliers Forum
I've read of the vr6oc forum (http://www.vr6oc.com) that there's a place in Kidsgrove, Stoke called PF Autos who are really good and very experienced with vws. They have sprayed lots of show cars and the guys on the forum seem to rate them highly and travel from miles away to have their cars painted. -
pm sent.

I could get it off him and send it down to you or you could give him a call to arrange something. His number is on the stokevwspares website.
