  1. hey guys hope you can help? my mate in leeds has to change his slam panel after a little accident! he hasn`t got internet access and is gonna have to do it in 1 day. is it as straight forward as it seems? having never done it, this is what i think needs to be done 1.remove grill, headlights, splitter (does the bonnet need to come off as there`l be no-where to hold it up on?) 2.remove front bumper 2 bolts each side (am i right in thinking it supports the engine? so does the engine need to be supported?) 3.unbolt rad, fan etc from slampanel (can these be left in the engine bay with the slampanel off?) 4.unbolt slampanel from wings 5.remove slampanel---fitting is reverse!!?!? anything else? please post any problems that could be encountered or any mistakes ive made! TIA ben

    Small oil leak

i`ve had a couple of oil pressure switches go on mine and missus` car, and it doesnt take long at all to dump all your oil everywhere!! good for rust prevention thou eh?? cheap as chip to get replaced i think it registers after 2000rpm
  3. theres a lot of stuff about suspension if you use the search, generally you get what you pay for, a lot of people use the koni and H&R combo and are happy with it, me included, it is quite expensive but only a small drop (big improvement) and has adjustable damping so you can set the stiffness of your shocks, HTH ben
  4. i`d re-seat the relay (dunno witch one mind) have a go at cleaning the contacts on your stalk (ooh!!) then replace stalk if no better
  5. pkripper, i know cai travelled from huddersfeild to Darren, had the work done and then went home in the same day  agree with Neil G60, oil cooler will give good peace of mind, should`ve come from factory with one instead of the rubbish little oil/water heat exchanger
  6. your lucky then!!! if you get a chance go in someones car fitted with them in the rain then come back and tell me your not impressed! i alwys thought mine were OK! i think you replace the exhaust cam on 2.0l with the inlet of the kr?? is that correct? whats the score with fitting the inlet cam to the KR 1.8 engine?? do you get the same results?? ben

    Oil cooler

i`ve got 13 (i think)row mocal on mine, was sometimes reaching 128c in traffic about 116 general running left the original cooler in there too and my temps avr. 94 on motorway, 100 in town and 112 if stuck in traffic for a while mine (from stealth) didnt come with a thermostat in it, when i rung them to ask they said they`d had a few probs (mocal) and werent putting thermostats in anymore mines mounted on the lower (rusty) panel behind the lower grills on the bumper, i`ve found the water temp to be between 1/4 and 1/2 wheras it used to be half and above takes a little longer for water/oil to heat up initially but havent looked back since having it fitted 18mnth ago ben
