Hi Chris,
I am Tony Boman, the Corrado Club GB Webmaster. We have been trying to contact you regarding your membership cheque you sent. Unfortunately your AOL email address is rejecting emails I have sent you from both of my personal email accounts.
Wanted to say that, yes you can pay at Stanford Hall, but I am also happy to activate your website access if you want to pay by PayPal.
Please let me know what you would like to do.
Best regards,
Tony Boman (tbvr6 on both forums)

Do MOT stations maintain a database of cars that should have ABS fitted or do they look for existence of ABS pump? In other words, when testing, how do they know you have ABS fitted. I have an intermittent ABS light on situation, which looks like a minor pump valve issue and was wondering if I could just replace ABS light with blanking switch plate for MOT :-) Tony

A long shot, but did you ever sell this? Regards, Tony

My local junction, but not me. Nice to know another around these parts

My VR has always shown a higher speed than actual. Have not checked every speed, but on average it is about 10% over. So 33 at 30, 44 at 40 etc. Considering it is an electronic sensor, it is not very good really. Even an original AutoCar review showed the VR to have the most inaccurate speedo out of all the test cars. Car manufacturers can get in trouble if the speedo shows less than actual speed, so as they cannot get it perfect, they err on the side of caution and have the speedo show higher than actual. Having said that, our 2004 Discovery is pretty accurate in comparison to my VR.

Yes, daily here too, about 250 miles per week. Well Corrados have to be driven, don't they? :-)

My AP coilovers have been great so far. Made by KW, but not in stainless. Cost £400. Not saying they are as good as some, but bought on recommendation and very happy so far.

That is not the right part. That is the electromagnet which fits near the shifter to lock certain shift positions. I think you are looking for something more like this. : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vw-Vehicle-Speed-Sensor-For-Auto-Transmission-4-Speed-01M927321B-RPM-Sensor-/300655551190?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item460077a2d6&_uhb=1#ht_12638wt_992 But check part nos first. I would like to keep it looking stunning, but as it does a 60 mile round commute 5 days a week, it is pointless getting too precious about it. The best thing about Corrados is the driving experience, so that comes first for me, although I would love it to be spotless. Hate the fact that however far from other cars I park it, it still seems to get knocked on an almost daily basis!!

I did take a double take when I saw it and the people I was with said "There goes your car"! But, without meaning to be nasty, mine was in better condition :-)

M reg Blackberry VR6 in Vicarage Road, Egham around 1pm today. I was walking, my Blackberry VR being parked at my office in same road.

How old are you, and how long have you had your Corrado/Corrado's?
tbvr6 replied to Overmind's topic in General Car Chat
53 years young and had my VR 3 years. Taken it from 130000 to 164000 in that time. Love every minute I am driving it. -
My wife did the course when she was naughty in her Disco. Said it was just a chat, some coffee and few motoring questions that anyone should know. I think if you have no points currently, then it is probably 50/50 whether worth doing, but if you have more than that, definitely do the course, as might be less than the extra insurance premium. Also surprised you got offered it as thought it was limited to speed limit + 10mph, but perhaps that differs by area.

How near Heathrow? It was potentially me. If on my way home from work, was probably too asleep to hear beeping!!

Late front wing prices would be interesting and possibly bonnet. -
Crash at GTI International just heard through twitter
tbvr6 replied to Jon_vr6's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
I was led to believe it was a snap off steering wheel and I am sure he braked and tried putting the wheel back on, but the whole thing would have happened in a very short space of time if travelling at 70 mph. I think I would give the driver the benefit of the doubt, without knowing all the facts. I was there, but glad I did not see the actual accident. -
Anyone going to GTI International?
tbvr6 replied to Portent's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Yep, I still like rummaging through traders stock, seeing lights and accessories in the flesh and buying spontaneously. Although there is nothing I can buy for the Corrado, I love going to the Sandown Park bug meet as there are lots of bits and bobs to browse through. I did buy a bonnet stay clip at Inters, ooh last of the big spenders :-) -

I do agree about Inters. I have attended it fairly regularly, mainly because there are not many water-cooled VAG shows in the calendar. A few years back I went to it near Ipswich and there were loads of trade stands, which took nearly all day to get around. The problem for traders these days is the Internet, eBay and fuel prices. The cost of getting stock to a show means it is difficult to make any profit at all, when trying to keep prices down to online rates. I was a little disappointed at the turnout as it was a 4 hour round trip for me, but I certainly understand the reasons people did not go. I hope people can make it to the Scirocco Register day, because that was brilliant last year. I think Corrados outnumbered Sciroccos at their own National Day! I also going to the Berkeley Castle meet which seems to be getting a lot of interest. Tony -

Unfortunately on holiday next weekend or I would have gone to Stanford. Scirocco Register National Day will be my next meet. Good turnout last year on that, so fingers crossed. -
Anyone going to GTI International?
tbvr6 replied to Portent's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Felt quite embarrassing as I had a well attended Scirocco Register stand not far from me one side and several nice Mk1 Golf club members the other side! The weather turned out to be okay too. Never mind, better luck at my next show. Still, having heard the bad news about the accident, puts my disappointment into perspective and makes it unimportant. If anyone is seriously injured, it could end the drag strip at Inters and with falling attendance and less trade stands, I could see the show struggling to survive. -

I did not see the accident, but air ambulance landed as I was leaving. Hope all are okay, but sounds nasty.
