Works fine for me. However, you'll need to be able to play DivX video (DX50 codec) to see it. http://movavi.com/codec/DX50.html or try the VLC Player

These are The Association of Chief Police Officers enforcement guideline figures Limit Fixed Penalty Summons 20 mph 25 mph 35 mph 30 mph 35 mph 50 mph 40 mph 46 mph 66 mph 50 mph 57 mph 76 mph 60 mph 68 mph 86 mph 70 mph 79 mph 96 mph As you can see, it works out that speeds in excess by 10% + 2mph of the posted limit will get you an FPN but, as has been previously noted, you could theoretically be pulled for being only 1 mph over the limit. worked example using your numbers 195/50/15 tyre: RR = 288 mm -> circumference = 2PiR = 1809.6 mm tyre wears down to 1.6 mm tread (the legal minimum) RR = 281.6 mm -> circumference = 2PiR = 1769.3 mm which makes for approx 2.2% difference in your speedo reading.

What size are they? -
Been trying to work out where you were in the pic taken outside... and my best guess is the roof of the building with the Mercedes Star behind the Europa Center at the top of the K-damm. :?

8) Interesting about the photos being fakes. I guess it's wait and see...

That would be Dawn of the Dead Keep your eyes a little bit open watching Shaun of the Dead and you'll see a red Mk 2 Scirocco parked outside Simon Pegg's house, which I suspect is no coincidence :)

No Corrados in these, I'm afraid, but I went out yesterday up to Banstead Wood to catch some wintry weather and practice my black & white conversion technique... these are some of the 'snowier' ones :)

That's nearly the way it operates in parts of Europe. In France, if you make changes to the technical specification of a vehicle that has been 'type approved' then you need to take it to a testing centre to have it re-certified before you can use it on the road. Effectively, any modifications, especially to mechanical components have to be declared to the state by law. The difficulties in getting this done have largely led to the huge amounts of money European dubbers put into their bodywork instead of their engines ;) Some parts of the motor industry (notably the vehicle manufacturers) are wanting to head even further in the same direction and have been lobbying for legal protection of designs in the UK similar to laws that exist already in Germany and France so that third parties could not produce 'pattern' parts  My aunt's partner had quibbles over a claim with his insurers after an accident because he'd debadged the car without notifying them  For my part, in 'work to rule' style agit-prop, I've declared every change I've made to my Scirocco to my insurance company, down to the chrome door pins :)

Nothing is new under the sun ;)

AFAIK, the Corrado was never officially sold in Japan, so a lot of those that are there will be imports from neighbouring countries (and perhaps ex-US Forces personnel cars) that drive on the other side.

That can't be true. Someone ring up the DVLA. Since they seem to have made it public by mentioning it to 16vradge... It may be true. It was my suggestion to Paul at Dubmeister last week that he check it out because the 2001 regulations actually have an optional spec. Section 10, Paragraph 3. Part 2 of Schedule 2 is an optional specification says [emphasis added] There's a similar provision in Part 1 of Schedule 2 for vehicles first registered after 2001 and for post-1973 vehicles with new plates being fitted after September 2001 (which is the 'Subject to paragraph (4)' exception in S.10, para 3.) Dubmeister are already onto the DVLA about this. The DVLA have conceded in correspondence that it indeed may be legal to use German plates without a 'D' country identifier on UK registered vehicles. They're arguing that the German DIN spec hasn't been proven to be 'equivalent' performance to the BS so there's an element of doubt. They've got their legal team looking at the wording and are obviously spooked because it's been kicked upstairs at least twice now that we're aware of. My guess is that both the UK BS and German DIN specs are derived from a common EU standard, which would make it rather hard for them to deny that they're equivalent.

AFAIK, the short answer is no, you can't, certainly not if you're fitting new plates. I'm slightly vaguer on the point if you've had the same plates on since 1974, though it's likely to attract the attentions of the police. As for the second bit, quite possibly, but I'm sure the police won't want to divulge that kind of operational data :)
