Yeah im interested, how much mate?
-
hmm, it didn't sound like it in terms of his reference to the cost of a single relay but you could be right...
-
Cool thanks, in terms of looking for elements to retrofit (in answer to your post), there are kits on ebay or, when I retrofitted them to my Valver I bought some cheap heated seat covers and took the elements out, split them so there was a top and bottom, bought some wire and cheap switches and fitted it all. The leather seats in my VR have already got the elements but no wiring etc...
-
Sorry mate, but people are selling them on eBay for £50-60 a side, I'm not that desperate and if necessary, I'll work around it. Like I said, are they that important or can standard automotive relays be used?
-
After delivery and conversion rates you've looking around £70 for a mk3 loom, then there will be a small amount of extension required. A VW Sharan switch is anywhere from £10+ and you'll have to mod a blank to fit it in, the next problem is sourcing the relays. Does anyone have a relay part number as I can't find a clear answer... Are the relays necessary or can the loom be modified for standard automotive relays?

That's with Chris Knott with LV and Highway, based on 10,000 miles I think, including use of other vehicles, 90 day EU cover and free courtesy car (as well as the usual others). I was with Greenlight and they quoted £496 again with LV but after I phoned them back and told them I wasn't going to renew they said they probably could have matched it but I'd already paid Chris Knott. Mods declared are lowered sports suspension and sports exhaust. That is with a £350 excess however.
-
I'm 25, 6 years protected NCD, 100% clean license, a few mods also on a 94 VR and my renewal this year was £442, down from £814 last year!!!!

I'm in the same situation as you buddy, the loom from a golf fits but its much shorter (as one of my friends found out). I am tempted to see if a switch from a Sharon/Galaxy/Alhambra fits as it looks very similar to the Corrado late switch and can be found for under £10 on ebay, the loom is harder to find but if you're good enough there's a few websites out there with descriptions as how to make your own.

Just a heads up, you can buy this from Zavvi for £255 posted -
http://www.maplin.co.uk/mk111-adjustable-timer-with-relay-output-25224 Can you solder ;) I used it on my valver when the trigger from my alarm didnt unlock the central locking properly, was really annoying and this did the job I'll give it a clean through then, I'm going to assume that it has never been done, is this easy enough to do and where would I get a power bleeder from? Also do you know where I'd be able to get new seals if I resort to stripping it down (im not afraid to go that, ive done it with various parts before) Edit: Ok is there anything that can be used instead of a power bleeder? If i can get a way with faking one i'd rather not have to buy one (£60+) Thanks but it still doesnt tell me whether a golf one would be suitable for the corrado, whether the ECUs are interchangable etc (i'd rather not have to buy an ECU and a pump) Thanks for the replies guys!

Well luckily it passed the MOT last year with the light coming on and off but lately its been on constantly. There were a few other errors but that was because I'd actually locked the brakes up and it reckoned there were errors with a couple of the sensors. I erased the faults and they haven't come back but i can't get rid of those three. Unfortunaly the light hasn't been off in a long time, theres only one other way to cheat the system to get it through the MOT and sort it out afterwards. In order to pass the light needs to come on and then go off, you can buy a cheap kit from maplin that has a timer in it, you can then wire it up to the ignition and a fake ABS light, set the timer for a couple of seconds then it turns off automatically... Its something i've been thinking of as a short term thing in case I cannot get a new pump/second hand pump sorted...
-
So, my ABS light is on continuously, VAG COM gives the following codes: 00276 - ABS Outlet Valve; Left Rear (N136) 35-00 - - 00280 - Differential Lock Valve 2 (N126) 35-00 - 00532 - Transmission Control Module Relay - Supply Voltage 35-00 - My MOT is due next month and I've had this issue for a little while, sometimes it goes away but its been on for best part of 2 months now...looks like I'm probably going to need a new pump, either second hand or brand new. In terms of brand new what costs and where could i get one? Second hand, would the pump from a VR golf fit? Part numbers are similar: Corrado: 1H2614117A Golf: 1H2614217A Many thanks!

Mine fold in...what brand deflectors have you got? Mine are made by Heko
-
What's the status on these now?
-
Is there any chance you can get one before 4, the auction ends just after 4...many thanks.
-
Cool, the colour is ok as the ones I'm bidding on are the same. They also come with a complete set of centre caps I think so that'll be alright. The auction ends tonight, I take it the wheels are straight, do you have any pictures of them?
-
Im really interested in these, can you give me a bit more information regarding getting the rims for the front? I've found some on ebay.de, theres a couple of sets of 7.5 x 16in on there and theres some ending in a couple of days that are 4 x 98 ET35. Would these be suitable? The centre cap is different to the ones you've got in the photo though, are they interchangable? Also these don't come with tyres, do yours? Regards

Does a MK3 heated seat loom fit the corrado switch and seat bases? Or with a bit of modifying would it work?
-
They've come out really well David, gotta get myself a diy spray booth, need to do my wheels
-
I'm not sure, i thought that all VAG cars were mostly 5 x 100? Edit: Think you might be correct, google tells me 5 x 112, oh well, nevermind i thought they looked quite cool. Thanks for the heads up
-
What do people think of using these A3 wheels on my VR? They'd need a bit of tidying and i probably wouldn't have them in black, theres a place local to me that will powdercoat a full set of wheels for £100, that includes acid etching before. Comments welcome! Auction ends tomorrow. ET is 56 according to the auction so i'd need spacers i guess...
-
How much do you want for it?
-
Is the heated seat switch from the Galaxy/Sharon/Alhambra a suitable replacement for the Corrado switch? Size wise they look the same and although the Galaxy one isnt square it can be sunk into a blanking plate and made to look very similar. Your thoughts?
