  1. I made an immobiliser for my Valver using a reed switch and a latching relay (before I fitted a Sigma touch key that I removed from a donor Corrado and retrofitted). A reed switch only works when you place a magnet in front of it, and the relay was used to transfer electricity as i didn't want high current running through the switch. I put the key in the ignition and turned it to acc, this sent power to the relay, but it wasn't switched on, once i placed the magnet in front of the reed switch, which was hidden behind the ashtray at the rear of the compartment in the centre console, power went to the relay which turned it on, allowing me to crank the engine. Since i was using a latching relay i only needed to wave the magnet for a brief second to turn the relay on and for it to stay on without the need to keep the magnet in front of the reed switch. As soon as i took the key out of the ignition the relay switched back over to off. Worked really well and i only needed a small button type magnet.
  2. Yeah thats fine they're not going anywhere :)
  3. Tyres are good, 1 is brand new (falkern), 2 have only a few hundred miles on them (both maxxis) and one will need replacing soon but is still legal (maxxis) See pictures. There is a bit of rubbing on two of the tyres from the arches where they were too low when I swapped my rear suspension over but they weren't driven like that for long and they passed the mot fine though More pictures on here http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r295/eugopnosaj/Corrado/
  4. The alternator will be fine, looking for about £200 for the wheels, only thing is, where up north are you?
  5. Ive got some 17inch BBS RZ's, early headlights and a 2.0 alternator spare
  6. Try TMI in Leighton Buzzard, they've done head work for my Valver ans my brothers Mondeo. Paul is the Guy who owns/runs it, he's a nice chap and gets it done, they're reasonably priced too Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
  7. The only issue you would have are the mounting brackets on the late ones that aren't in the same place on the early, I had to drill holes in the door skin to fit mine, lining them up can be a bit tricky Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
  8. I can probably wait till then as the car is off the road at the moment following some work. Can i ask you to put them aside for me for now? There's every chance I could be round that way in the next few months as I'm often travelling around collecting car parts!
  9. Thanks for the replies, getting some springs shouldn't be an issue as I could use the springs that are on the Bilsteins on the VR at the moment, at least they'll fit on the swivel hubs.
  10. I've managed to get hold of some leather cheap and want to have a go at reupholstering...
  11. Hi all, I'm after the cheapest set of seats going, any condition considered. Also I'm looking for a standard set of shocks (or at least the rears) for a 16v, or from any model if there isnt a difference. Thanks!
  12. Is there a difference between models? Ie would my Koni's that are on my 16v fit my VR6?

    17" wheels

Nothing drastic, i swapped the rear suspension over and the bottom spring plate was too low, so the outside of the tyre caught the inside of the arch, i will get some photos for you, sorted it out before it got serious though. Just to point out the only reason the wheels aren't on the car is because its been taken off the road to sell and wanted to sell these separately.

    17" wheels

Well I've just put a brand new tyre on one of them, 2 have got pretty much new tyres, although they have had a bit of a rubbing from the arches when i was testing the suspension, passed the mot though like it, the 4th tyre might need replacing soon (didnt come up as an advisor so has still got enough tread to be legal). I've also got 2 spare centre caps for them, so i'm looking for £180. They're not on the car and are being dry stored in a garage. I will try and get some better pictures for you if you want?

    17" wheels

What car? Ive got a set of 17 BBS RZ's for a valver/g60 http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?48083-Correct-ET check this thread to see them
  16. There's only 2 Corrado VR6 pumps, 1 for a Golf and isn't sure whether it fits a Corrado or not and the rest are 4pot, there was a Golf VR6 pump for only £5 at the time of writing the post, plus it would be good knowledge in case anyone else needed to know
  17. bit shaky, taken from my phone Yeah i will do that, but i was more asking if anyone knew what else it could be?
  18. Saw some interesting number plates: Mine is L607 PRP There was a black VR parked right next door, next to where Wendy was cooking and that was L507 PRP, and there was also another one which was L608 PRP! I'm down on power :( Loss of grip on the first run so it wasn't printed 177 Bhp on the second run 172.6 lb ft. Vince reckons the throttle might not be opening fully, any other ideas? Also what would could have caused the loss of grip?
  19. I'm not sure if my modifications to my PCV are going to hold up so i was wondering whether i should fit an oil breather in its place. The carbon canister had already been deleted before I bought the car and I'd like to keep the air intake as clean as possible. Since the crankcase housing recirculates back into the cold air feed and the pipework from what would have been the carbon canister also goes back into it i think i might benefit from a breather. (The pipework that was added to replace the carbon canister was clear but is now a murky green...) Would something like this be a suitable replacement? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/0-5L-OIL-BREATHER-TANK-CATCH-CAN-CARBON-FILTER-/290565038021?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item43a7069fc5#ht_1786wt_1037
  20. As the title states, i cant get a straight answer as to whether I can put a golf VR6 (AAA engine) abs pump in my Corrado. It is a doable solution as I cant find anyone selling a Corrado one...
  21. The lacquer on my bumper is all cracked and the paint is all chipped and ive got a hole in my drivers door where some f***ker tried to break in...they've all got issues but its how they make you feel that counts!
  22. The part numbers on the ISV i took from the valver are identical to the ones on the VR ISV, not sure why that is the case but worked well for this scenario. I will give the one from the VR a really good clean. What makes the damper box such a hindrance?
  23. Well, strangely the VR has only done 142k and has a standard airbox (well it has had the carbon canister deleted and a cold air feed added instead) , whereas my 16v has done 174k, again with a standard airbox, neither looked to have had a new ISV as both looked worn. Now I've got a bit of research to do about ISV part numbers....

    ISVs

So the Corrado VW ISV part number is 034 133 455b with the Bosch part number being 0 280 140 512. On eBay there are various Bosch ISVs that are identical to look at but have Bosch part number 0 280 140 516. Does anyone know whether they are a suitable replacement and will work?
