  1. Depends how big your amp is, ive got a sub zero 300w amp that sits nicely behind the passengers rear quarter card :)
  2. haha no, well i should be going to see awigman today to pick up some parts and he's got spacers on his so i can see what he's got his ET down to...
  3. Hmm, looks like thats my only option really, ill see what ive got in the way of seals in the gasket set and see if that resolves the issue but i do need the plastic but as it is preventing the cap from clipping in properly... might just bite the bullet.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-JETTA-PASSAT-CORDOBA-TOLEDO-DISTRIBUTOR-NEW-/170477263683?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27b13c9b43
  4. How big is the TB from the 16v ABF engine, its round like the weber but im not sure on the size...probably easier to get hold of me thinks
  5. So you reckon it would be better to buy a new one, would this include everything or just the distributor without the cap? How much am i looking at for a new one/recon one
  6. i too bought a head gasket set so ill check to see if theres one there. not sure what to do about the plastic bit now though...
  7. Cool thanks, there is also a plastic seal that sits between the main distributor and cap that i would also need to replace (as its melted) however it doesnt seem to be in the image you supplied, i will get an image uploaded and hopefully someone knows about it, or that it might even have the part number on it £10 seems a lot for an oil seal?! (need to get myself a copy of ETKA from somewhere...)
  8. Yeah but im not dissuaded by extra work  how much would i benefit from a mk3 rear frame and is it a direct fit?
  9. As the title ive got a small oil leak coming from the dizzy on my valver, tried ECP for various oil seals etc but they can't find anything, having tried stealers yet. There is oil inside the cap and that is where it seems to be leaking from, its also melted the black plastic bit that sits inside the cap due to the leak, its made my gearbox all dirty now :( it was nice and tidy'ish in there before. Does anyone have the part numbers for the seals? or an idea about this problem. Will try and post pics soonish Thanks, Jay
  10. Thanks, so what would be the best way to measure what i could get without having to buy the spacers and find that they don't fit..
  11. Any good? i would probably want wider ones than these and for the same price i can get 26mm or 30mm for £47 from FK racing that Swompy suggested although they don't come with the longer bolts but he also suggested a website that looked pretty cheap...
  12. Cool, that will be helpful to see :) Thanks, the prices are really good and would be 100% better than ebay, need to see if the centre bore for the hubcentric fits mine, also the site for the bolts looks good too. Cheers for the responses Jay
  13. :( Hmm, i take it i should be looking for ones that are single holes per PCD (if you get me), IF im buying them on ebay for example would something like this be better: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ALL-VW-BIMECC-HUBCENTRIC-WHEEL-SPACER-KIT-20MM-/290370848805?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyres_Trim_Nuts_ET&hash=item439b738825 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ALLOY-WHEEL-20mm-HUBCENTRIC-SPACERS-VW-LUPO-POLO-GOLF-/220593450320?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item335c64ed50
  14. Something like this? They are 20mm will get my offset down to ET15 both front and rear, will need to check my centre bore before i buy them as they are hubcentric http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/20-mil-HUB-SPACER-KIT-SUITABLE-VOLKSWAGEN-PASSAT-/350341238206?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&hash=item5191f70dbe Or can i mix different sizes; ie use three 7mm spacers and they will be cheaper and get 21mm for £30 (£20 cheaper) or is using multiple adaptors not wise.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Corrado-Spacers-7mm-Shims-/140383007182?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyres_Trim_Nuts_ET&hash=item20af7ab1ce
  15. So spacers are the way to go then, i guess i should just play around and see what width i can get? What would be the best offset to achieve? or the best clearance for the arches? What cake are you offering?
  16. Want to give my rado a wider stance, is the best way just to add spacers and use longer bolts? What is the widest i can get away with having ET35 wheels which are 7in wide already? Sorry if this has been covered before Thanks!
  17. opps my bad, thats what happens if i post at 1 in the norning however you didnt remove it from your quoted post
  18. sorry mate potentially not able to collect the wheels as nova might not be going and i cant bring back all 4. @ butterfly i dont know if you want to take the wheels as you'll prob get down there before i know if nova and i are heading down my contact details are ********** jason
  19. spoke to nova and hes happy to help with the wheels, we should still be going as long as the weather isnt really bad. can i get some contact details?
  20. unfortunately it IS a diesel...my friend drives the 1.9 CDTi vectra for work and its definitely a diesel
  21. There isn't an order to tightening the nuts/bolts (depending on the year) for the rocker cover unlike the head but if you want to do it then start in the middle rather than the corners. Make sure you've cleaned up the mating faces, dont scrub them hard with anything abrasive just to remove any residue from the old gasket, apply the gasket paste if you want to then put the new rubber gasket on. Its a really simple job just annoying that you have to remove the inlet to get to it  (sorry demons i didnt want to sound as if i was correcting you :( )
  22. Well the sealant will just peel from the metal, its not a very strong rubber and deteriorates easily, especially under stress and heat....you can get gasket paste which, in the absence of a proper moulded gasket you can use this stuff but as you've got one it seems pointless to use something like that, the grease i used to help the gasket stick whilst i lined it up properly, once tightened it will squeeze out and you can just wipe it off
  23. I did mine when i replaced my head and no, i wouldnt suggest using silicone...i used grease to help create a seal before i put the new gasket on dunno if it helped but there's no leak, not that i had one before but as i was replacing the head and needed to remove the rocker cover i thought i should replace the gasket
  24. They're also listed at the top of this one  his own thread  Yep! Google had about 3 results - 2 in German .... and his own thread. Thought it might help  Not helpful.... :nono:
