If it's the matrix, you'd know about it. Mine went yesterday and it filled the car with steam in a second. Bad window seals can let a fair amount of water in, especially if the door membrane has gone as well. Back light seals can also be a suspect. Check the spare wheel well. The water will go for the lowest point. Gavin

Note to self. Passat heater matrix fits require 2 well trained mechanics. The dash does have to come out and the aircon re-gassed. Mine had no gas in it, so the environment will live another day...... Only superheroes can seperate the airbox from the aircon. Mortals will have to remove the dash completely. 4 hours so far and it's now too cold. Another little job to finish in the morning. Just re-assembling to do. If only everything in life was as reliable as a Volkswagen. Gavin

I am hoping that the dash in my Passat can stay in. Just paid a oner for a genuine matrix. LHD cars only with aircon. Unbelievably MK keep them in stock and it was at the stealers at 7.30 this morning!! Wish me luck. Will be a tough job with hardly any tools. Gavin

I did it on my Golf. You can feel the boost come in a bit sooner. However, For any throttle position you are running more boost which leads to higher consumption. Want more boost get 65 and suitable chip..Ask GazzaG60 he'll tell you :mrgreen:

I'd question the 14Volts being a bit high. Maybe that did in the ECU. The Alternator could be duff.. Gavin

The green one looks best, go faster bits hint to me that it may have been looked after. Only way to tell with either is to go for a look before bidding. Take some allen keys to have a look in the boost pipes. If they don't rattle or smoke chances are, they are ok. Got to figure on charger service with either... With the white one you could always break it if you get it for less than 750-800. A shame but I'd consider it. Gavin

Its probably the suppressor you are talking about. Its a capacitor that grounds out interference, which you will most likely hear on your radio. Most factors would have one, if you cannot get your back.

When I say I am emigrating to Australia, hopefully. Everyone says, why do you want to do that??? Well some scrotes did over my garage last night and fcuked my Snap On box and lifted a load of my tools. They cut a big hole in the back of the garage and ripped their way in. Worst thing is the alarm wasn't on. Easy to forget to turn it on. I hope the insurance will cover it but who knows, they seem to always find a way not to pay up. Luckily I have/can get copies of the receipts for the new stuff I have bought, but the secondhand gear I wonder if they'll trust me? The start of a $hitty day. Gavin :cry:
