  1. Aye, it seems they are a good long term investment, up to 60k miles apparantly! :D cheers
  2. hmmm, not wind buffeting noise is it? My C seems to do that alot at certain speeds
  3. Found that my G60 had the 'wrong' plugs, they were the type for the 1.8 GTI engine. I went out and bought the proper Bosch G60 platinum plugs, £9.25+VAT each!!! The car seemed to run fine on the GTI plugs, so why do they need to be different? The core/prong are tiny little things, how many miles should they last? cheers
  4. They have a website, let me find the address.. got it .. http://www.genmoco.com I've been using them for about 6 years, and of the 31/2 years I owned my mk2 GTi I used them for every job, they are very good, very particular, I've never had any complaints. They are a honest no-nonsense specialist and give great advice, even if it helps you to do the job yourself! I have not yet taken the Corrado to them but no doubt I will. Not sure how experienced they are with G60 engines/chargers but I often see Corrado's in there. They're not always keen on fitting 'performance' items especially if they don't fit very well but who can blame them. Saying that they are clued up with s/s exhausts, lowering kits etc. and spend ages getting all the geometry spot on!
  5. Hey that could of been me mate! I live in stretford and sometimes drive up to Lymm on the off chance of seeing a clear stetch of road that I can blast along on! And yes I did get stuck behind a few cars! Whereabouts do you live, and what do you drive?

    Corrado G60 Storm?

Didn't know there was such a thing - Sure it didn't mean 'Storm Blue' ??
  7. I've Got my Bilstein GAS shocks on order now, but German & Swedish are telling me their BOGE lowering springs won't fit my G60! Apparently my C was built in March 92, and they only kit they list is for C's built before that date. Does anyone know what the change in supsension was around that time(if any?) Has anyone used these springs on a C G60 built on or after March 92? Thanks,
  8. I thought the Boge turbo gas were standard rate. Are they uprated???? Makes sense I suppose as Boge do sell gas and turbo gas ones. Well years back I bought TurboGAS for a polo, they are definately uprated 20% sports shocks. To confuse the situation, for some applications these shocks are painted yellow and labelled turbogas, but for others they are black and just look like standard shocks. they were very firm! I've decided i'm going for GSF Boge 40mm springs & Bilstein GAs shocks, will report back when It's fitted!
  9. Did you keep the original springs? I can understand the rear end rising with new shocks & spring assistors, but the front end shouldn't! Were they Bilstein GAS shocks? I was thinkin of getting some of those
  10. Cheers for that, which type of BOGE were they, standard, GAS, or TurboGAS? I'm in two minds wheter to fit these Bilsteins or just fit standard Corrado rear shocks with the 40mm springs ?? ta
  11. Bleedin' hell.... I pay £120 just for fitting front springs/shocks & four wheel alignment! Boge & Bilstein both make good quality dampers, I found that Boge turbogas are quite uprated?
  12. I'm first bidder :) Think i've asked this before, but does anybody know if Mk2 16v rear shocks will fit on the C? I have a brand new set of Bilstein GAS, seems a shame to waste!
  13. Didn't see the last posts mate, you might have a buyer here! Is the drop even front/back? Looks a nice drop at the front! cheers
  14. Didn't know G&S did springs, what drop did they give mate? Have they worn out or did you just fancy coilovers? I once had a set of springs from EuroCP on my polo, they gave a nice ride & handling. cheers
  15. I'm definately going to try Bilstein GAS shocks, just need to choose my springs. Anyone recommend a good spring set (about 40mm) that isn't too harsh? Anyone used Venom/Vipertech springs? cheers
  16. Cheers for that, don't think i'll bother with them then!
  17. Any luck? i've not been able to find a weblink.
  18. Sorry, what I meant was, do the Bonrath lowering caps make the ride harsher? i.e, To make the car sit lower have they replaced a rubber part with a thin steel plate etc., which will make the ride harsher, or is it just clever design using the same materials to make the spring sit higher in the arch? I remember GermanCarCompany advised me against lowering caps on my old polo a few years back for this reason, just wondered if it was the same case for the C.
  19. Do they make the ride harsher?
  20. g60Jay, what shocks were you using with those? and size of wheels? They claim to retain a nice ride. I had a look on the eibach website and was disappointed to see that they only did a 25mm drop on the Corrado(prokit springs) and only one kit was listed for 16v/g60/vr6, so I think the lowering amount is going to depend on what engine you have. The sportier spring kits didn't cater for the Corrado at all! Dboy, where did you get your 35mm springs? what model is your C? cheers
  21. I want to get a set of flush fit wheel valves for my new alloys. The richbrook ones have a scredriver slot in the caps, but I remember seeing an ad for some once that had a small hex key fitting on the caps. Anyone know where these can be bought from? Can't find them on the net anywhere, just the slotted ones. Cheers
  22. True, Mind you the standard rear suspension has sagged about 40mm and still rides ok, no bottoming out with a full car! PSS-9's would be great if money no object, although I'd prob have the compression & rebound set on full soft! I would'nt be using standard shocks, I meant a particular type of Bilstein GAS which are about 10% uprated so shouldn't hurt the ride quality so much. Come on, somebody must be using these Eibach prokit springs!!! Dboy, what type of eibach springs are ya running? So you still get good ride qualiy with Koni T/A's? cheers
  23. AFAIK the claimed BHP is around 195 but realistically probably only performs at 180ish BHP..... I may be mistaken though[/quote:bb3ed] 195 sounds quite a big increase. My g60 had a stage 4 charger, chip & pulley but it wasn't fitted at jabba, I assume the owner did it himself. I noticed when I was under the car I could see a small oil leak at both ends of the boost pipe?(charger to cooler) Is this a problem?(guess it could of built up since the car was new) Should I take the pipe off and check the charger outlet? How much of an oil leak is permissible? thanks
  24. I thought a stage 4 rebuild was supposed to go hand in hand with a smaller pulley and chip, otherwise whats the point! Check your receipts or ring Jabbasport, you may find that It has been chipped & pulley'd at the same time. Anyone know what the claimed BHP is for Stage 4, chip & pulley? cheers
