  1. Definitely a trip I want to do one day.
  2. Thanks. I don't do Facebook so never thought to look on there :) Might try to turn up, depending on what I'm doing later.

Enjoyable thread. Would read again :thumbleft:
  4. Nice cars. The TT was based on mk4 era technology and build quality. My mk6 is noticably poorer built than my old mk4.
  5. If/when I do sell the Corrado then I will miss the community as much as the car. Other forums and clubs just don't seem as friendly and inclusive.
  6. Life is short and we are the lucky ones to be given the chance at enjoying it. So don't live life with regrets at what you haven't tried. If it's time to move on then do it. You can always return back to Corrado ownership and with the knowledge most of us have it wont be hard to find another good one.
  7. Late cars are chipped. Earlier ones aren't. My 94L isn't.
  8. Lovely seats and the perfect combination between the look of leather and the comfort of cloth. I believe they were only available in Europe and not the UK. Too pricey for me right now otherwise I may have considered them. I assume they are electric movement only and not heated so the loom mentioned is the two wires back to the fuse box and earthing point? For the information for others cars without recaros didn't have this loom so it will need to be added. It's a simple two wire job but not sure if the connectors at the seat end are still available. So a DIY job may be needed if the loom can't be provided. Superb seats. Good luck with the sale. Tempting though :)
  9. Check the battery clamps are secure and tighten them.
  10. True enough. In 1995 I bought a mk3 Golf after almost buying a Corrado and in 2012 I bought a mk6 Golf instead of a Scirocco.
  11. It's worth popping out the headlight switch and seeing whether there are any shorts in the wires going into it.
  12. Mine does exactly this and I was also told it could be the FPR. I keep meaning to change it.
  13. They are Corrado recaros. You can tell from the smaller bolsters and the twin electric switches for two way movement. The colour is indeed ultraviolet.
  14. Just back from a weeks trip from Surrey to Norfolk and back and didn't see a single Corrado the whole time. This was in the height of summer in just the weather you'd expect someone to be out in a second car. But none. I drove several hundred miles all in, covering a lot of Norfolk. But none. Zip. Nada. They be rare beasts now :( ** I was in the Golf so shame on me too - but sadly the Corrado can't touch the 46mpg average I was getting with the GTI :(
  15. Wait, what? Storm grey leather recaros you say?
  16. I finally got around to uploading the in-car recording of the parade lap. Please excuse the absolutely terrible unedited audio and video quality as it literally was from my phone stuck onto the widnscreen. I doubt anyone is that interested but it's here anyway: There's two parts because the one phone call I got during the day was during the parade and it cut out the recording.
  17. Sad times but good news you've sold. I'm sure you'll be back. They all come back :D
  18. I'm keen depending on location and date.
  19. It really was a fantastic day and I'd like to say thank you to the organisers. It was a very relaxed affair with a superb turnout and the parade laps really added to the event. It was great to see a some old faces and a some new ones too. A few of us also took to the track briefly towards the end of the day including getting some free (for a donation) instruction. I've never been on the track before so I took it easy but still had a grin from ear to ear :) The highlight for me was the noise Fay's car made when I was being overtaken by her. I saw her coming up in my mirror and as she had the instructor with her I knew she'd be pushing faster than me so I did my best to keep out of the way. We often get to hear our cars briefly revved while parked, or maybe accelerating in the distance. But now having been on a track at around 80mph and hearing one come screaming past at full throttle it's quite an experience. They sound incredible! The standard of cars was very high there too. There were quite a few show condition cars and the rest were mostly very high quality. I'm not sure how many turned out but there were 73 registrations and I guess at least 60 were there if not more. I didn't take many pictures because my photo skills are weak compared to some of the people on here. I did record the parade lap but unfortunately my wife called in the middle of it and it killed the recording. I'm now filing for divorce! :D
  20. I had this exact issue on mine. Simple to fix. Just unscrew the light cover and solder the wires back on.
  21. Ouch! Some really nasty accidents there. ANd it seems like most 911's of that era were more stable going backwards. As an aside I remember sitting in the front passenger seat of my dad's old Cortina in the early 70's and didn't wear a seatbelt.
