  6. Anyone seen the new issue of used car buyer ! Nice write up on what to buy for £5000. 1995 Corrado VR6, The Opinion is: A modern classic in the making, it would be rude to ignore the VR6 now it`s selling for £5000. On paper, its nearly as quick as a subaru impreza Turbu to 60MPH, and the growl from that V6 is the stuff of Legend. the only problem at this price will be finding one that hasn`t suffered at the hands of a cruel boy racer who`s mercilessly thrashed it to within an inch of its life without doing the proper maintenance. Find a good one, though, and you won`t ever want to be parted. Check it out 8)

    Hi

Youl soon be up for a Divorce when you have to get your wallet out
  9. Everyone is entitled to there opinion :?
  10. I went to chester to pick up my mates new impreza series mcrae tonight, had to drive his escort van home  , When we got home he let me have a good Razz in it it I was impressed there was plenty of smooth power all the way up to 7 grand and little turbo lag id say it probably handled as well as my corrado but would naturally waste my 16v in every way, what about you G60 and VR6 lads what do you think of the impreza?
  11. Ok dubbprince if your looking for a 16v and you want a tidy low miles car in the right colour they can fetch big money still, there like any other corrado regardless of engine size imho The car you have looked at sounds nice and the colour is nice has it got a good service record and all the mots , My mate is buying mine off me ( when he sells his golf) when being the word :x My car is a199116v in Burgundy pearl with 17 10 spokes in mint condition with 65000 miles all old mots full service history lowered 40mm on eibach springs and billstein shocks and he`s giving me £3400 for it, the only reason im selling is i need to do loads of work to my house and pull the drive up build a big garage and then try and find a mint VR6 8)
  12. Depends whose driving  Went out in the corrado last night after two weeks of driving the Pug bucket around and couldn`t believe how tight the c felt considering it is 3 years older and with just modest of handling kits " Bilstein shocks & eibach springs " the pug wouldn`t stand a chance, There is a huge margin in the difference of quality
  13. Its an 8 Valve, I Just thought it would`ve had more poke an 8 valve series 2 GTI would run rings around I know I had one The old K JET Slightly Modded But Very Fast 8)
  14. Just Bought a 306 XSI for the missus after reading excellent Reviews on this car, My mate works at a dealers and a tidy 94 L plate Red 3 door came in with all the goodies on they sold it me trade for £1200 And i looked forward to driving it home  What a dissapointment i expected more from the 2 litre engine and the handling wasn`t what i expected either, plenty off understeer and its got 4 new goodyears on too. The build Quality of the cabin is not a patch on the Corrado or the Rest of the car, Just goes to show how good the corrado is My 1.8 16v Would leave it standing on every score 8)
  15. My mate has just got a Porsche boxter 2.5 in Red, I Twisted his arm to let me have a go last night ! What a car ! Not as fast as i expected though but handled realy well Acceleration was good but seemed to suffer in the mid range and i put this car through its paces my mate asking me to slow down a few times  What a head turner everybody stares, when i got home i washed the corrado and took her out for a spin to realise how well put together the corrado is for a 12 year old car mines only the 1.816v but to be fair the performance is brisk and still keeps up with a lot of todays performance cars, A good VR6 would be a match for the porsche any day 8) I Love my corrado  Sad Ehh
  16. GazzaG60 any chance you can send me the pass as i don`t think i can make first thing! i will refund you :)

    Ignition Timing

Cheers stevemac, But the 1.816v is Kjet fuel injection (primitive) I don`t think its got an ECU it runs mechanically using fuel pressure! Maybe its just me expecting to much from the 1.816v, my mate is buying it off me shortly so ill be getting a VR6 8) sad to see it go though

    Ignition Timing

Cheers everyone! ive spent some time advancing the timing lots of stop starting, just like you say chuck until it started pinking then retarded slightly to get a happy medium, the car doesn`t realy feel any perkier but it is a hot day wich doesn`t help but i was surprised how far i could advance the dizzy before it pinked, but there ya go, my mates got a series 2 16 valve golf that Revs so much better than mine maybe its because its higher miles ? mine always feels flat ! any one else experianced this?

    Ignition Timing

Ive been using Optimax in my 1.8 16v for a couple of months now and it really is an improvement over unleaded, The previous owner had the timing retarded so that he could use lead replacement sh*t the car ran like sh*t but now it seems to be a lot better, but ive been told to advance the timing for a slight improvement in performance does the distributor turn clockwise to advance, Any advice please :?:
