  1. Hey craig only live up the road from you, im in colwyn bay :) Had a similar race with a 150 BHP TDI Golf from abergele to colwyn bay, i was coming back from chester when he pulled of the slip road from abergele he tried to take me from the inside with but couldnt he was so annoyed he was nearly touching my bumper at 100 mph until we hit the sharp left hand bend i left him for dead so he came back for more he was suicidal ive never had a car so close at over a ton i slowed because of traffic down to about 70 then selected third and left him again GREAT STUFF  pulled of the slip road for old colwyn he passed me with his blond bint hurlling abuse ? WHY  Im sick of hearing about TDI`s doing 150MPH (dont think so) and this was the RED EYE, 1991 1.8 16v corrado 1 TDI 150 0!!!!!! 8)

    OLD HACKS

Looking for a tidy little runner for the missus to get to work and back, anything with a bit of tax and test on anything upto about £700 Im waiting for my mate to sell his MK2 16v GTI then he`s having my corrado and im then on the look out for a very tidy late VR6 8) If anyone has anything for sale let me know CHEERS, only VWS please
  3. Well my mates confirmed he is buying my corrado when he sells his Golf  Im a bit down about this as i have enjoyed over 12 months of what i`d say has been my best VW. I have toyed with the idea of buying an Audi S3 or maybe a 4 motion Golf but have done the Golf scene to death, I can`t seem to get my head around driving anything other than another corrado probably a VR6, But i think i am going to have to look hard to find one as tidy as my 16V, I woul;d like one with no more than 70000 miles on with leather and a nice Rare colour, At 36 i have owned lots of vws and plenty of other performance cars but not one that has the ability that the corrado seems to have. If any of you know of a nice VR6 for sale let me know... Cheers 8)
  4. The 16V MK2 Golf is a seriously fast car (power to weight ratio) especially with 100000 miles plus on the clock, believe me, my mates got one most standard high milers tend to run 150 bhp on the rollers. I once read an article in car and car conversions were someone was complaing about his mates 16V Golf biting at the heels of his saphire cosworth at 140 mph 8) (RESPECT)
  5. My mates has got a 16v jetta with 250000 miles on the clock standard "Very Fast" A Saxo VTS tried his luck, at 130 mph he was history.. Had a battle with one of these saxos in my Old VR6 Golf coming back from stoke on a very long straight, I left him for dead at 120 leaving about a four car distance, the guy was about 50 he was a total maniac, I did this about four times to him had to give up in the end the missus was battering me over the head! " Not happy"
  6. BUILT IN GERMANY REFINED AT "PD MOTORSPORT" 8)
  7. Thanx for everyones reply, i think i will sell my corrado to my mate in a couple of months and spend about 6 grand on a nice G60 or VR6 Spending 12 to 13 grand on a S3 that may not excite as much as the corrado is a big gamble ! :?

  9. Been thinking about selling the corrado  i really dont want to but im desperate for more performance its a 1.8 16v with only 63000 on the clock full service history in mint condition burgundy pearl with 17" Ten spokes lowered otherwise standard 1991 my mate has offered me £3400 for it ! seems a fair price to me, I have thought of keeping the car and maybe doing a turbo conversion but i dont think turbo technics do the conversion anymore ? Anyone know of any one that does this conversion and how much, as i am trying to weigh the pros and cons up but dont really want to let my mate down :? This is my second corrado and i dont think there is many other cars on the road that get so much interest, My ideal car is an Audi S3 but i will have to wait another year to afford one and will i be as happy with that as i am with the corrado, ADVICE PLEEZZE

  13. Had a Rare treat yesterday, went out in a friend of a friends G60 seriously moded, stage4 jabba sport charger and ported head "BIG" induction system chipped and pullied, magnex exhaust , lowered, split Rim BBS Rims. He Says 250 Bhp ? certainly felt like it ! It was quick! what a fun car, sounded like a World War 2 Fighter Plane. after owning a VR6 Golf i expected it to be quick, but not that quick  . Im jealous of all you moded G60 corrado owners ! :)

    suspension help !

Thanks Banana man, Very informative just got to get my springs now and im all set :D
  15. Bought Mark16Vs old bilstein kit of him at the AGM on sunday, and was thinking of fitting it myself, originally i was just going to take it somewhere to get it done but after getting prices i decided i`d have a go i need top mounts and was thinking of using eibach springs (any other ideas) Awesome quoted £240 plus vat, dubsport £325 :? Demon Tweeks £280 without top mounts all with a four wheel align. But with a new set of tyres needed shortly im trying to cut costs, I would consider myself a quite capable mechanic, but havent had much experiance with suspension work, I know i need spring compressors but can i get away with the tool for the top mounts, and how do the struts come down, are the rears pretty easy. Any Tips would be appreciated :) Thanks

    18" alloys

Im running 17`s on mine, sometimes look out of the window and think they look two small, the car needs lowering though, i think 18`s would look spot on. dont know about the clearance though and just think of the tramlining  also my power steering pump seems to work hard on 17`s
