any one thought of remaking the side engine cover, `and lower undertrays attached to spliiter on vr` out of plastic,im keen if anyone works or knows of a plastic forming company.!! need these obsolete bits remade.

this is a good one, from my experience, a few reasons for big end damage, is oil starvation, i.e oil pressure, blocked oil gallery, but what id be more concerned about is the machine shop that reconditioned the crankshaft, the tolorences are very fine indeed, was a plastiguage used with new bearings to check if crankshaft to conrod cleareances were ok? was the conrod replaced from last rebuild?

im keen on a tailgate, doors and wings, all of which im suffering rust, and will be costly to rectify, if the fit and finish is good, its an ideal replacment considering, panels are now obsolete from vw, i believe this is the only way forward to keeping /older rados on the road, even though i like to keep them original as possible. love to sse some photos of the finished items.

i would of thought splicing into the speed signal off the gearbox should be ok, by splicing it should still send a speend signal to the spoiler control unit.

1990 1.8 16v nugget full heated leather. alot of restoration work has been carried out. new clutch.cambelt.headgasket.waterpump. all new wheel bearings.front and rear discs and pads.replaced. mileage 135k .taxed and motd. good tyres all round.new windscreen.new rear callipers.handbrake cables.the list goes on.will give u more info soon.just away on hols and wil get sum pics for you.regards alex
