  1. Spoke to the mechanic today and he cant make it till thursday now!!. He did mention that it could be the distributor. I phoned tps to get a price and they are obsolete. If it is the distributor my only hope is a second hand one ? otherwise do i have to change all the ignition stuff to a coil pack ?. Is that even possible ? what happends to the hole where the dizzy would have been .thanks rob

  4. I would do it before you go , if the revs are racing up now its proberbly well on its way out . As the mass says you run the risk of it going when you are away .
  5. Yep clutch is on its way out mate , you will notice it more when you are goin uphill .
  6. Well the mechanic i use will be testing the coil on tuesday , following rw1's instructions . Did replace dizzy and rotor arm thinking it could be the problem , but no!. Rang tps and the new one is £130.00 +the vat. So hopefully she will be runnin again soon , i miss driving her .
  7. Looks a very nice car for the dough . Not that i want to sell mine ever !!!, but when are these lovely cars going to rise in price ? . 16v ,vr6 whatever ,they seem to be goin for a song atm . Sad times .

  14. Sorry guys your going to have to be clever for this one . I was fitting a new dizzy and rotor arm because the vr will not start [no spark ]. I happend to look across to the back by bulk head ,underneath the headertank and saw a bracket hanging there with an electrical plug on it .This was plugged in but looked like it should attached to something . The part also had what looked like a resistor attached to it .Did not have the camera with me , n like a dope i did not write the part no down !regards rob

  17. Hi all are the wishbones the same on the c's ?. I have the bones off the valver me n matt broke and was going to get them powdercoated ,to go on my 92 vr .thanks rob

  21. did my oil cooler last week ,just jacked the car up seemed easy to me .But then again i have been strugglin for hours to do a job and someone comes over to help n does it in couple of mins lol.
  22. What to do first ?. well i would ride around for a long time in it with a great big smile !. Then i would order all the parts you need for a service [does not matter what someone else has done it its nice to do it yourself]. As for the headlights along with the wipers yes they are a bit umpty. Kurzy on here will see you right for an uprated loom for the lights .regards rob
