yep thats an option mate . something keeps telling me to keep it the same and just get a new bottom end . would still want the vr roar as well lol.

having starting problems on my 92 vr . Cleaned the isv. Changed the plugs and cleaned the lead caps and dizzy. But somtimes she struggles to start , the revs build slowly and are irratic, if you put your foot on the gas a little she will stall. As i said this happens every now and then .Can a coil slowly start to break down through age or would it just die if its getting towards the end of its life ?.regards rob

i paid 2,400 for mine ,thats was pound notes though. They did it on weekends and evenings .

do a search on position .There are four bolts that you have to adjust. think its 1mm below at front and 1mm above the roofline at the back ,or its the other way round , search will tell you anyways . regards rob

yep simple as that . Have a read about syncronising the motor to the sunroof though.Also make sure the sliders and other moving parts are well greased up. regards rob

she will be as good as new soon. do yourself a favour though ,get the interior out of the car , im glad i did with mine , it will take weeks of cleaning to get it clean .

er ....... mk2 cortina ..........mk3 ford zephyr 6 ..........mk1 ford zodiac ...... oh the shame ! but havin said that the ford zodiac would leave my mates in their xr2's standing the straight 6 with a 3 speed box was pretty quick off the line .

they are on the sunroof cassette . one on each corner.they run down the front pillars, and the rear ones . There is no changing if they are on they are on or someone has removed them . pic would help.regards rob

anybody have a pic of the correct way the metal rods connect to the plastic part , so the central locking works properly .many thanks rob

got my new compomotives on from the group buy , curbed one less than 20 miles later . changed the temp sensers, left one of the rubber seals in by mistake , then fitted the new ones , so one had two seals on ! 5 miles later the pressure built up n blew it out of the housing , temp warning light flashing , steam everywhere. what a numpty .

thanks for replies they have been very helpfull . i still need to check for sparking on all the plugs. however it seems to be a fuel problem . i was parked on a hill!, but i put in a tenners worth [ that i might have burnt more than i thought] lol. then a jerry can of fuel as she would not fire . so i put in another and she started.but i did roll the car onto the flat after the first lot went in and she still would not run . so she starts but sometimes a bit spluttery. never had a thing go wrong with her in four years. so just need to sort the sketchy start . regards rob

check plugs and leads ,change plugs if they are bad . or if you are ocd like me change em anyway. clean the leads with carb cleaner . the idle will proberbly be icv ,they get gunged up with crap . remove it and clean with carb cleaner as well , regards rob

thanks for replies. the ignition switch is black. have tried wiggling the wires . icv has been cleaned .still non starter though. the middle lead on the dizzy goes to a metal box, ignition amp? could that be faulty?. regards rob

right as far as i can see there is no spark. did do a search . dizzy seems fine . what next ? regards rob
