Ok so i changed my headlights back to the later style which should be on my car . I went for an mot today and i know i should have checked the easy bits before hand but i didnt . My mate rang me this morning with a cancellation so i jumped in the car and left it with him . It failed on clear repeaters which have been on for the past 10 years !. also i have no main beam , ive checked the wiring to the lights from the up rated loom , this looks right , although i will check again in better light tomorrow . The three inline fuses are intact . The bulbs on the main beam are fine . I suppose the three relays will have to be checked , i have no idea how to test them though .Maybe there is a problem with the lights ?. Everything worked on the old set . Any input will be appreciated chaps . Rob

I didn't go for VWs in my early life Bill. I suppose I was influenced by my two cousins. They always had 50s and 60s fords , one cousins favourite was the sunbeam Alpine. So my first cars were MK2 cortinas , MK1 Zodiacs and Zephyr 6s . When we used to go out the local lads laughed at them, while driving their XR2s . Till i roasted them at the lights . The old Zodiac went like a rocket .

As a kid growing up in the early seventies i loved my cars . The first i remember would be the Dodge charger , obviously from the dukes of hazzard. Personaly i would not want the General Lee , its been done to death now , a standard car would be great for me , But it must be the Hemi 440 . My second car i remember would be the 1977 Lotus Esprit . Yes its only got 160 BHP, but oh those looks !, the design is lovely . My third would have to be the 69 Mustang . The looks , the sound of that V8 are to die for . My fourth is the 1980's Porsche 911 . When i was sixteen , my girlfriends dad had one , being picked up in this was amazing , a true Porka in my eyes . And how can i forget the 77-89 Aston Martin ?, that similar Mustang shape ,the best shape Aston ever !. Although i have numbered them ,its only as i remember them , i would have any of these cars in a flash .

They are only plastic grommets though , they are not water tight . I had mine bonded on .

Had your fair share of mishaps already then , looking nice and coming on well . That side repair looks great.

We are hoping to sort out the back garden this summer , which means a bigger shed , having to clear the old one will give me no excuse not to sort out all the parts lol.

If you attach wires to the torsion bars, you don't need to remove the grill , on the event of a snapped cable.
-
Costing me a fortune though lol .

Great stuff .
