  1. Too many of these shows stray from what it's all about and branch out to other things . Obviously that's why Aaron left too . I did laugh when the new series of car sos started, when they said we are now in sunny California, no not really we are still here in England doing what we do .

Welcome along fella . Another DBP owner here , best colour in my opinion lol .
  3. Probably sticky tappets . Mine has not been started for around 6 months due to work being done on the car .I knew it would be tapping and clicking a bit . It's now been started around 6 times and left to warm up.shes now back to her quiet self when starting. Put a vid up for people to hear the noise .
  4. I found this when stripping the underside . I didn't take much notice at the time . I got bogged down with work and a mechanic mate did some bits for me . I bought a new one from Heritage. I came home to find the bumper back on and the shield in place . I rung him and said is it supposed to be there?, he said that's where the old one was Rob. But yes it seems pointless really .
  5. I'm sure someone was after one of these a few months back . For th life of me I can't think who it was .
  6. Lovely looking car . Red VR badges , that's unusual for an l reg .
  7. Ok , that rules that out then .
  8. Sorry if I've miss read the post, but I'm sure you said the car has not been run for a long time ?. Maybe the ECU is learning the engine . Mine was the same after disconnecting the battery for a long time . It took a good few miles of full throttle and then idle , for the car to settle down .
  9. I thought there was only two ?. They are under the wiper arm linkage area, just reach in and you will find them. As for refilling, pour the coolant in to the header tank .
  10. As James said , you have a car to be proud of . Remind yourself of those first pics you put up, to what you have now . I still remember the carpets , they looked like they had been dragged round a field !, let alone the rest of the work that's gone in to it . Anybody on here would be pleased to own your car Sean .
  11. Put the car on a vagcom first. These rarely go wrong, despite where they are situated. FPR, or the blue temp sender would be my first port of call .
  12. I've used VW spares too .
  13. Thanks Hasan . I need to take some more pics when it's a bit brighter. Phone pics look crap in this horrible weather.
  14. I'm in line for the throne with Daniels Nothelle G60. Not many of those left either . Daniel has left it to me in his will lol.
  15. Nice looking car. Can't be many of these!.
  16. I lost a lot of it , when I removed the pipes Delfinis . The last time I did work in this area the pump was noisy and like you say they quieten down . I will have another look tomorrow weather depending.
  17. Fired the old girl up today . New oil and coolant in . I removed the king lead and turned her over a few times to get the oil pressure up . Connected the lead and she fired first time . I will get the pics up of the new underside pics soon . The only problem I have is a noisy power steering pump . I've bled it and topped it up , but it still sounds awful.
  18. I spent much of my childhood in Hayes and around that area . My nan had a flat in Avondale drive. I haven't been back in a long while , untill I went to pick up someone from Heathrow last year . I only had time for a quick look around the old place .
  19. Slough, now there's a place I haven't been to in years Hasan . I presume your close to Hayes , Hillingdon ,Uxbridge and the like .
