Anyone please . It's really important for my case against the garage that sold it to me .

Afternoon chaps . My question is , if I plug my 08 plate Golf into a diognosis computer , will it read past faults and tell me when they were rectified or when it was scanned ?. I'm looking for problems found last September .so basically if I booked my car into a dealership would they come up with the info I need . Many thanks Rob

I did one side then went to do the other side , when that pesky bolt sheared . So I had to drop the lot . Pics will follow when I've finished . I did take some of the finished side , but they didn't look great . The finished pics will inc the new sump too .

I put it off for around two years lol . The parts have been under the spare bed for a long time .Just a shame that one of the twelve bolts had to shear . The rest came out first try after soaking them with plus gas . Oh well at least I get to refurb the subframe properly .

I had some great help today . Many thanks to Rog for helping me . We dropped the subframe in order for me to get that poxy sheared bolt out . Its not a job i wanted to tackle on my own . I can now drop it down to a mate to see if he can weld a nut on the sheared bolt to get it out . Then i can prep it and paint it before it goes back in and fit new mounts while im at it . so things will come to a halt for a while . Im in no rush , the car is now sorn and i still have the crossmember to remove prep and paint , the new sump to fit , fit the painted radiator support and fit everything back together . I will remove and clean up any earth straps that i can see too as they look very corroded . I may well see other parts that need sorting while the front end is off !, you can go on and on really .

I've got a TSI engine if you want one lol . No I wouldn't wish that piece of crap on anyone .

Sean , I was thinking about yours yesterday , probably because of this thread . When yours was painted , were there any signs of another colour under neath when it was being prepared ? .

I may well still be at it Sean ! . Good practice for when you do yours lol . lets hope you don't have any shearing bolts .

Open the car door , then use a watering can to get the water to run down the window , check the bottom of the door card for leaks . Also it should come out of the bottom of the door , where the drain holes are .

I didn't see this , until I looked at the section with more photos . Strange one that .

Looking for top money , clean the engine and bay . Christ that's filthy .

I'm sure it slides forwards towards the gear stick ? , now I feel stupid !, I only fitted a new one three months ago . They are very tight , it took me three attempts at doing it , it felt as though it was going to break .

I had this a while back , when I had my new tyres fitted . Same thing , what's been disturbed ? , it turned out to be the locking wheel nut in the glove box !.

As above , I'm looking for a subframe which I would like to fit this weekend . A mate has a Passat one , will it fit ?.
