  1. Nice work Jim , I'll bet your pleased with that .
  2. I have a spare set , they are in a lock up though , which I can't get to till next week . From memory they are in Good shape .
  3. These are available from TPS, few a couple of quid . They are sided though , one is black the other white . You may as well do both sides .
  4. I can't see the pics either . Are you talking about the plastic part that attaches to the door rods Hasan ?
  5. Thanks Diarmaid , as I was going through it , I found a better daylight picture ,it's on page 22.
  6. Lovely car . Lovely wheels . Nice read too .
  7. I'm not sure if my build thread will help . I'm not good at links . I've got cream seats and door cards with black pods and the rest of the plastics are black . I've had a lot of comments on it on how nice it looks .
  8. Sorry to hear of you're engine woes Jim . I hope you get things sorted out .
  9. Lovely looking VR . Ooooh and a 32 as well , very nice , low mileage too .
  10. I know where your coming from ,believe me I do and so do countless others on the forum .I know I should count myself lucky for having a driveway at least , but not having a garage makes it hard to do any work . In the summer time I don't want my car in bits , it's a waste . In the winter your battling with the rain and cold . But having a classic or up and coming classic comes with all the bad as well as the good . I spend 2.5k on a respray 6 years ago ,I now have little rust bubbles on the roof and two on the back of the car I'm gutted . I'm the sort of person that looks at my car and thinks of all the things that need doing and I can't because of money problems . I suppose when you look at it in truth , most of us can't really afford to maintain and run a classic / fun car , but you struggle through . If mine was in a garage I would do the work as and when I could , out of sight out of mind !.ive seriously thought of selling over the past few months . We have the engine rebuild on the crock of s??t TSI to sought out , I would miss it terribly but sometimes it's needs must .
  11. The spoiler is attached by two bolts in each slider . Be very careful the plastic captive nut on the body is very weak .
  12. Those to sensors don't really fail to much . I would start at the coil and work my way to the spark plugs . Check every lead and electrical plug , inc the big connection plug ( I can't remember what it's called ). Use electrical contact cleaner on each male /female connections .
  13. Remove the dizzy cap and check the inside of it , they are prone to moisture ingress . Mine was doing the same . When I checked the cap , there were arcs all over it . Once I fitted the new cap all was well.
  14. FPR, is around 80.00 if I remember correctly .
  15. So glad I've got another 50 odd k on mine .
  16. They do add up . I bought all new when I did the rear underside , you think it's only a few nuts n bolts , but they ain't cheap .
  17. Slowly does it , is does get a bit daunting .
  18. She's coming along Nicely easy . I bet you are looking forward to paint .
  19. Good news , glad you got it sorted .
  20. The first thing I would do is check the fluid level , if it's low and your going round a corner it will dip reservoir and it will flash . Next point of call will be hooking it up to a vagcom , it's probably a sensor on one of the hubs . Your right , on ignition it should come on and go out a few seconds later .
