I would buy a car cover and sew a strip of that type of matting into the lining .
-
I would think so . If you give your local TPS a ring , they will tell you . If not give Heritage a bell .
-
It's a little hard to explain Hasan . I would take a look at the manual or the parts page ?. Sorry mate I would be to long winded and confuse you more !.
-
No , it has to come off Hasan I'm afraid .
-
Looks great Easy .
-
The black and white sided ones , that connects both rods ?. If so these should be available at TPS.
-
I cleaned mine up Jim , then painted them .
-
Well done for getting stuck with in . Yes you do have to drain the power steering as the metal pipe runs through the rad support. Or you could clamp the end of the hose.
-
I remember doing mine , I left an '0' ring in by mistake. A mile up the road , the temp light is flashing it blew the sensor out of the block ! . Lesson learned.
-
In solicitors terms , they were sold unfit for purpose.
-
I must resist too ! . These will only appreciate too, so it's a good investment as well as improving the performance of the car .
-
I de greased mine three times . Then I used a wire brush on a drill . I also used a heavy grade sandpaper. I then applied four coats of hammerite . Considering the condition of a couple of crossmembers I've seen they don't get a lot of damage . Hammerite will last a long time .

Oooops.

Well I'm going to have to wait till the end of the month to see any progress. As the solicitor is on holiday , she did say that she was going away for three weeks . I now also have a letter from VW, to say they did no work at all to the car and sent it to auction, we also have a detailed letter from the previous and only other owner of the car . In it he states VW diagnosed a slipped timing chain . The evidence is well and truly stacked against the garage that sold it to us now . -
Clutch replacement - change timing chain also?
robrado974 replied to Callum-VR6's topic in Engine Bay
Amazing really isn't it . In the nineties VW made engines with chains that lasted over 100k. Zip forward to 2008 and your lucky to get 35k out of a set . -
Hope your car is ok and finishes up spotless. Years ago I was working on an estate, the council had workman spraying fences in creosote, it was a windy day !. I remember walking past so many cars that were smothered in the stuff .
-
Mine was the same after seven months off the road .It sounded awful. After checking the oil , I drove it for half a mile and it was just as bad . I left it running , then went out again and the rattle disappeared.
-
Yes , I'm with you now Jim. I did think afterwards, brake pipes on the subframe?, I don't remember that.
-
Ah , I've just grabbed a second hand VR frame . I may have to modify something up then , for the lines if it's slightly different Chris .
-
I believe it's different, so is the MK3. You will need a VR frame .
-
oil "leak" - could it be from sump gasket? (wrong type?) - VR6
robrado974 replied to Mawrick's topic in Engine Bay
As yours is a later car , it will be the rubber type gasket I believe. -
Welcome along . DBP , is the best colour lol.
-
Good news .
-
Nice to have you back .

Many thanks Culshaw . No 34 !.
