  1. I've been a corrado owner for the past 2 weeks now so I thought that I'd post some pics. The car was perviously owned by dave16v Had a bit of a blast out to the Cat and Fiddle on Saturday so on Sunday I thought it would be a good idea to give it a bit of a clean. Well her it is. 2l 16v TT allows (5 stud conversion) Full Magnex stainless exhaust Momo stearing wheel De wipered And MOT book for Friday
  2. Today I washed and waxed it.... And when I figure out how to upload pictures I'll post them up in the members gallery.
  3. Sig updated with new pic.... nice. I guess I better got some up of mine. :)
  4. Took collection of my first Corrado yeasterday  Was going to post some pics up of it but spent the whole day driving round in it :) Big thanks to Dave, awesome well looked after motor, and I think I may have got a garage sorted to keep it in. So another bonus!
  5. Had some good news today. I'm going to be getting my C a week early  Unfortunatly my insurance doesn't start till next week :( Guess I can still look and it and clean it. :D
  6. Oh my, Over the past couple of days I've been reading every post in this thread, and re-reading bits I didn't understand. (so quite a lot of it) :cuckoo: I'm just looking into and doing some research into a 24v conversion. Hopeing that it'll answer some questions that I have and all I have to show for it is a head ache. :( When I decide to do it I think I'm going to have to read the thread again........and ask loads of questions. So be warned..
  7. Its a bit sad, but I read the whole thread, the guy had put up some really good tutorials. If the C starts to rust and needs work doing like that I may start taking some of the 1mm Zintec home from work and having a go.
  8. Hi, just stumbled across this thread and read it from start to finish. Hat off to you on the detailing. The car looks awesome. Are you doing the strip down yourself on the 16V? And if you don't mind me asking, how much is the re-spray going to be setting you back roughly?
  9. Hmmmm, looks like a bodge job some people here would do...... If I find anything like that on the valver you'll be fixing it :)
  10. Not really 'what i did to my Corrado' It's just that its 1 day closer to me getting my Corrado. 15 days to go..... and counting!

Cheers, thanks for that. I'd really like to do a V6 4 motion conversion. But, if one crops up I'll do an R32. Can I ask a bit of a stupid question. What do the 3 letter mean? APY, AMK etc.... Are they for the modle number/type of engine?

I have been thinking V6 4motion. But saw an R36 the other day and started day dreaming Been looking for a runner on ebay as I want the whole car complete, engine, gearbox, rear axel, wiring loom etc.... I'm hoping to be able to end up with a quick, well handleing car that I can stand back and look at knowing that I did that. (Although with some help) I'm hoping that I'll not have to sell it on at any point. Its took long enough to get one, so i don't want to get shot. As for insurance, Brentacre have given me some good quotes and by the time I get it done I'll either be 32 or 33 with 15 -16 years no claims (hopefully)

Thanks for the response guys..... Well I'm an mechanical engineer and laser operator, and I have a mate who is a mechanic who is going to be working woth me on this project, no fee  and in return I'm going to be helping him on his, building and welding his chassis. As for time, well thats open ended, as there is no limit for how long it could/can take. I have constant weekend use of his garage and I'm single so no misses to keep happy. Currently I have no extra money, but hoping that by christmas I'll have some to start looking for a donor vehicle. I have always wanted a project car and knowing Dave and the work thats already been done on his and its condition, I thought that it was the best option. I've been doing loads of research, reading thread after thread on conversions, even the odd AWD conversion which I'm also considering.

    Engines

At the end of the month I'll hopefully be taking delivery of my first Corrado. I have been able to cobble together enough money to buy daves16v valver. :notworthy: After spending many hours asking Dave simple and stupid questions at work and possibly getting on his nerves I thought it was time to do the same to everyone on here. I know that Dave was pondering the idea of a VR6 conversion and that has got me thinking....... So the question is...... What Engines can be considered for conversion? Make and model of donor car Obviously there are the common ones, VR6, R32 from VW. The 3.2 Audi TT engine. Are there any others? What other engines will fit with no or limited faffing about in the engine bay. For instance, does the R36 engine fit? I'm hoping to do a conversion either this or next Christmas and I'm just looking for ideas. Cheers in advance for any help Mark
  15. Thats the first time I've heard them refered to as that.......
