1. Hi, Im heading down the M1 on Sunday morning. I'm also on the club stand. Nathan, do you want to meet up a little earlier somewhere?
2. Nice work matey, and congrats on the second place at the National Day
3. This is the third National Day I've attended and has been the best to date. Historic location, great turnout, fun convoy down and a slightly more sedate convoy home. As many have already said, massive thanks to the organisers and CCGB committee, epic day out! Some pic's from the day.
4. Do you need it soon? I'll have one available in about 2 months. I'll get it shot blasted and powder coated too. Let me know if your interested Mark
5. Nothing wrong with a 2.0 16v winning Jim :smug: I was totally speechless last year when I won. I doubt very much I'll pose much of a challenge to this years winner, it's not been touched for a while as things are wrong with it at the minute.
6. Your welcome mate. My hands have just about recovered! Cutting that bolt in half with half a hack saw blade wasn't much fun! Thanks for letting me take the car out for a spin on Saturday. Defiantly know what's happening now in August.
7. I'm hoping to get up to the post office meet. But only stopping to say hello and for a quick drink as its my nieces birthday.
8. Redfox, its a certain powder. We have 3 type's of black, satin black in a flat finish, satin black in a 'ripple' finish (some call it eggshell, but it could be described as like cellulite!) and finally we have the satin black 'textured' which is what we used on Dave's manifold and looks a little like felt. All look really nice in different applications, but Dave has chosen the best for his manifold. So much so I've now got my eye on the box :)
9. Ahh, I see. I guess I better get me one of those fancy pay pal accounts =0) Will get membership paid in the next couple of days if thats ok.
10. Looks like I'll be able to come to the National Day as the dates for the work on the rado have changed. I seem to be having difficulty getting onto the CCGB site, could you put my name down? I think my subs are up to date? If someone could let me know either way. Cheers
11. I would love to Andy, but it will be having a bit of work done. It's booked in after Stanford, just getting the last few bits together. It'll be getting a rather good clean while its in the garage.
12. Would love to come but I think the rado will be in many pieces by the 20th may. Maybe I should just tag along with Dave16v :smug:
13. Looks good mate, also liking the last photo. Very arty!
14. I'll have a venture up to this one. Will be good to get a run out :)
15. Thanks, had a play around with it on Sunday and it seems to be working again now.
16. ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!! Well after nearly 6 months sat on the drive at my folks I went over today and dropped the battery back in after taking it out when I parked it up and keeping it charged at home. 1 gallon of good stuff from Sainsbury's and a bottle of redex, and after a few minutes she fired up. It seems the months of hibernation have been kind and so far the only thing that doesn't seem to work is the central locking on the boot! After letting it idle for 5-10 minutes and waiting for the engine to come up to temp, I tentatively drove it off the drive and did a few trips up and down the road to clear of the rust from the brakes. So next on the list of things to do, sort insurance as that's due to end soon. Get some tax and give it a bloody good wash and its done! I can't believe that even just driving it up and down the road has put a huge smile on my face
17. I think I'm right in saying that I have the first short shift that Dave did, as I have his previous car. I have a slightly shorter shift than what Dave is offering, but the workmanship is still to the same standard and I have had no problems with it. I can highly recommend this little upgrade. Mark
18. I've been reading through some of the new rule reg's for this season as well as watching the BBC F1 coverage from the first test in Jarez. From what I can gather about the nose, see the following pic. The nose has to fit under a box which is 550mm of the ground, this is to prevent cars being launched over others in accidents, also it makes it safer when the nose of the vehicle impacts near the driver. I've read that the nose's of the 'ugly' cars have been kept high to allow as much air past. The more air you get past the wheels and around the nose, the more air you have for down force and cooling. Here's a link to the BBC F1 forum thingy. Gary Anderson will give quite and lot of technical insight into the new season. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/16864721
19. I shot blasted and powder coated a pair of wishbones which had R32 rushes in. They stood up on to the temperature fine. (its only 180 degrees for 10 mins)
