Are you in the Corrado Club of GB? I did an idiots guide to removing the aux belt in the club magazine that a couple of years ago :)

It's a good question - especially around things like wipers. However I don't think they could screw you in the event of an accident, if the modification was not directly responsible for the accident... so like if you had lupo wipers fitted but your brakes failed, unlikely they'd do anything about it.. however if it was raining heavily and a wiper flew off and you couldn't see then crashed into someone.. then the wipers would be under scrutiny and you could be subsequently in trouble. Clarification from one of the many insurers that use the forum to promote themselves would be nice! :)

It's most likely just going to be a case of getting a new / good used switch.. they do fail unfortunately as they're getting old and brittle and are mostly plastic inside.

Another vote for these :) A nice subtle modification and really good power gains.

for sale white 1.8 16v for £1400 in sawston ,cambridgeshire
Jim replied to twin45's topic in Cars for Sale [Corrado]
I have to be honest and say I think you'll be lucky to get £1400 for an early valver, unless it's in absolutely mint condition. You can get reasonable VR6's for £2000 now! :| Good luck either way though. -
We're going to look into pursuing other avenues as it's getting a bit tiresome now.. not sure what the options are really so need to speak with our PBX engineers.

I believe our switchboard system is so archaic that it doesn't do caller ID! :|

Interestingly since about November last year, I've been getting nuisance calls at work which are starting to creep me out a bit. The person apparently calls the switchboard, asks for me by name - and when they transfer the call to me, the person hangs up. They've never said a word to me. I get this about 4 times a week, every week! Reception started getting wise to it (as most people I actually want to talk to I've given my direct dial number, so no one else ever calls through to the switchboard to ask for me) and when they grilled him they actually got a name out of them (someone I've never heard of) and the guy still hung up once transferred. Slightly baffling. And mildly unnerving. On the verge of reporting it to the police to be honest! Not really sure what to do.

What engine is it? Ignition switch definitely sounds like it's buggered and yes, being very sensitive to key position can be one of the symptoms of it on the way out.. so look to get that replaced asap. The rough starting could be any number of things unfortunately and possibly not related to the ignition switch!

Welcome to the forum! What colour is that?
-
Of course - we have members from all over the planet on here! Welcome to the forum :) And don't worry - a lot of us are serial Corrado owners.. I'm on #4!

Sounds very appealing at that price. Would be even better if it could be somehow made to integrate with the genuine VW cruise control stalk for the Corrado!
-
What would you honestly want for such a kit? I don't want to suggest a price and make myself sound ignorant, as I have no idea how much work would go into making such a kit.

Sounds incredible! Would this be for a VR6?

Monthly Evening Meet - Friday Jan 4th - Solihull
Jim replied to Wendy's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Well I figured I'd be the first back! Think this was one of the best meets yet - fantastic location picked by Wendy (food was superb!) and some really good chat and chance to learn a bit about running a Corrado in another country! Great to see the usual faces and meet some new ones :) Cheers all! -

Darn :( Thanks for booking / organising as usual Wendy - it's pretty late eating for me but I'll try and stick it out for some food. Cheers. -
They're probably used to people running older / high mileage cars into the ground, not keeping on top of preventative maintenance and so forth which is what keeps these old cars on the road :)

See you this evening folks :) This is about 8 miles from me so about as local as I could hope for.. handy! -
Possible the picture is flipped for some reason, but yes.. you're right.. the outlet on the top of the airbox is in the wrong place! And looking at the bottom half, the bottom / right hand side of the picture.. what's that about? Seems to be another duct / inlet / outlet?
-
Nearly a third of his asking price? Good luck with that!

Sounds like Mike Edwards's old VR6 to me! What are the symptoms of it not starting? Does the car actually start and run for a second or so and then cut out? Or does it simply not start at all?
