Welcome :) Where abouts in Lincolnshire?
-
My VR has them, along with a remap, and I think it feels fantastic. I'd recommend them to any VR owner wanting a little extra "pep" in their engine! :) Only minor shame is that the engine note changes a little, and loses a bit of that really deep VR growl when you put your foot down.. makes it sound a little more raspy.
-
How about a 2.0 TFSI? That engine is absolutely superb and would make for a serious weapon in a Corrado!
-
I just don't understand the mentality of the small minded tossers that do things like this - so sorry :( I'd agree with the advice to avoid the insurers. I'd do as much as you can to protect the paint for the mean time (e.g. touch up stick, even if it looks like crap) and look into getting it professionally fixed or resprayed out of your own pocket. Insurance companies will ream you for years to come if you make a claim on this and it will cost you more in the long run.

Hello everyone, could someone give me some lowering advice please? :)
Jim replied to tom_rob_89's topic in Drivetrain
It really depends how much you want to spend. If money is no object then absolutely worth replacing the shocks (if you don't know how many miles they've done) as well as using the chance to refresh the bushes... but as I say, really depends on your budget.. cost can spiral quite quickly if you get carried away! Corrado feels SO good once everything is replaced / renewed though! -
Kips is pretty much my perfect Corrado!

Happy New Year, John.. hope you have a prosperous 2013 and look forward to catching up with you at some meets :)

Shouldn't need to change spring caps and those springs sound like they'd be fine but I think yours may be complicated by being a 4 cylinder but a very late model... just make sure you don't get a VR6 spring kit :) -
Honestly.. I swear to god VW want to do everything to alienate customers who drive old examples of their cars. What the f@ck kind of bat-**** policy is that?! Tell him you have a friend with ETKA so you can look up the part numbers yourself ;)

Monthly Evening Meet - Friday Jan 4th - Solihull
Jim replied to Wendy's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Reluctantly took the decision to SORN my Corrado today so won't be able to bring it to the meet - will be in my daily driver I'm afraid :( Got some mechanical jobs which need doing on the Corrado which make me think doing any more miles in it till they're fixed is not a good idea.. and of course cleaned out after christmas so didn't want to pay up for the road tax! -
It's great to see that this car went to someone as enthusiastic as Bill was. Great stuff and some good work being done there! :)

cant find the wavetrac group buy from a few years back.....

I think it may have been auto-pruned.. sorry! -
Over the years I've had several Infinity Basslink subwoofers in my Corrado's.. they've always been very decent, and a good size for the Corrado boot. Highly recommended!
-
Good work Andy. Pleased to hear you still seem to have some enthusiasm for the car!
-
Indeed. Can't believe the state of the Corrado market but it's all relative - you can buy M3's for £5,000 and E39 M5's for not much more.. I think until the Corrado becomes real scarce the values are going to continue going through this 'adjustment' :|

Tidy work as always Dave :)

It is a good thing that some people are keeping clean examples of the 4 cylinder versions on the road. I have to say that whilst I adore the chunkier stance of the VR6 with the slightly wider track and bulge bonnet, there's something undeniably pure and clean about a nice early 16v in something like Tornado Red, on a standard set of sebrings. It's subtle differences that non-Corrado owners wouldn't notice but I think they do look really different and I like them both for different reasons :)

Where abouts in the Midlands? I'm just outside Coventry. Welcome to the forum!

Nice :) Presumably that one has the 4.2 V8? Certainly makes the right sorts of noises and goes well enough!
-
Indeed.. many years ago I had a guy pull alongside me in a few year old Porsche 911 and hang out of the window asking if he could buy it as he loved it! :) Sure does put a smile on your face!

They would look amazing on a Corrado!

The Plato thread was very real :)

Often wonder what happened to my first Corrado, a Blackberry Metallic 2.0 16v - L539 GVH. I part exchanged it at a Citroen main dealer back in around 2002 I think. I left it with a fairly comprehensive history and receipts file, and put a link to the Corrado Forum in there hoping the car was going to another enthusiast. It came up for sale subsequently on Autotrader and that was the last I saw of it. According to ASKMID it's currently on the insurance database so must be being used by someone! :|

This is almost one of the best threads of 2012.

Merry christmas folks :)
