The Alpin A4's reviewed pretty highly often winning group tests or coming in the top 3-4 so I'm pretty confident they'll be good. Even on the cold roads round here, whilst I'm finding the car more likely to understeer slightly when cornering (because the wheels are quite a bit thinner than my 18's) I'm already finding it feels far less squirmy and twitchy on the really cold wet roads when driving first thing in the morning or late at night.. no perceptible increase in road noise and ride quality seems a bit better too (bigger side walls I guess). Made the steering lighter as well - couldn't believe the weight of the alloys when I took them off - the steels are significantly lighter.

No snow up here yet... but I'll be sure to report back on what they're like!

I completely missed it this year. There's no real interest for me either any more.. endless "chip tuning" companies, endless cars on Bentley alloys with 'detailed' stickers horizontally down the windscreen, and barely any decent traders. Gone are the days of the likes of GPC having a stand... I'm done with "VW shows" I think!

Just thought folks might be interested to know that Inters has moved to a new venue for 2013.. Shakespeare County Raceway near Stratford on Avon. One of the reasons from the email is "outstanding safety for sprint spectators with grandstand seating for 3,000" - guessing after the accident this year, they needed to do something to improve safety so this seems like a good idea. Hope the new venue works out for them.

If your car is a G60, then it will have the early interior. Hope that helps :)

Given how labour intensive the job is, not to mention the cost of the parts I think the price is pretty reasonable. Surely you jest? Most Corrado models are early trim - like the Norev one I have. The Revell model, being a VR6, is the only late Corrado model I've seen...

Great effort - that is one Corrado that would have been destined for the scrappers yard. Fantastic to see it's been saved. Good luck with the rewiring! You're a brave guy! :)

Very cool - thanks for the heads up. I don't really have many model cars but I do like getting little Corrado trinkets - and besides, if they're anything like the Revell ones (which doubled in price in a short amount of time) it may be worth getting one to put away!

I know everyone says that the standard suspension setup is fantastic, but god the standard ride height on that one is comical!

You're not mad at all... the Corrado is a toy compared to the M3. Just be prepared for the potential running costs! The Corrado may need regular little things doing but they're usually cheap to fix - the M3 is a real potential bank buster.

Umm... I don't think *think* you do, but it's no real hardship to remove anyway. The steering wheel and stalks all come of without very much trouble :) Pretty sure there's a bigass screw holding the lower cowling in place though so make sure you remove that before swinging on it to get it off! The plastic on them is very brittle and prising them apart is a pain in the backside.

Car cover isn't a bad shout. You can also get small standalone dehumidifiers which basically take these sorts of crystal refills from places like Wilko... like a shoebox sized plastic box thing. Absorbs the moisture in the air and collects it. The crystals need changing and the water needs tipping out reasonably often depending on the amount of moisture in the air, but they're not mega money...

Get to VW and order some replacement bolts for the drive shaft... not uncommon for one or two of them to resist coming out, which means they end up getting lunched.. and you don't want to refit them!
