  1. Yep - Quantum Silver should be perfect engine oil for your 16v :) Redline MT90 is great gearbox oil!
  2. As an owner of a car fitted with a new VAG VR6 exhaust system (was fitted new about 3 years ago I believe) I'm in no hurry to replace it with a stainless system. First Corrado I've had where I've not had exhaust issues every few months - be it stuff coming loose, stuff dropping off, stuff rattling on things it's not supposed to rattle on.... really is a superb system.
  3. Well it is a monthly meet... will see what date Wendy wants to pick for the December / January meet :)
  4. We're really not expecting people to make those sorts of drives mate on a week night! :) Just thought there might be a few more Midlands / Oxford type folks who would be up for it!
  5. "The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one.... but still they come..." Hope so. An amazing discovery if it's true. :)
  6. It's always annoying that people butcher the membrane. The sticky silicone used to hold it in place can simply be peeled back, and then stuck back in place - it's like some super special reusable gloop. Good work on effecting a tidier repair though mate!
  7. I'm rather disappointed that shot of mine on the jetty by the seaside didn't get in - thought it was a good shot :(
  8. Good stuff :) Welcome aboard! Head gasket and heater matrix are both fairly easy but just very time consuming... good luck with it all :)
  9. Bloody hell that's cheap. Nice project for someone!
  10. That's Joby's car :) What day did you go? I was on the stand most of the time on Saturday and Sunday!
  11. Fantastic :) Congratulations to you both. Shame a Corrado's not involved in there somewhere but I guess practicality has to come into it somewhere.

    Body Mods,

Just a nice original paintjob! I'd consider having the rear seams smoothed off and possibly get the roof gutterings smoothed and painted too - but that's all I'd ever do.
  13. Sounds like the right decision from everything you've said. All the other people I know who've worked in very stressful IT jobs (with those sorts of hours - being on call all night and then being expected to work the following day, for example) all end up with serious health and stress issues.. it's just not worth it. Be sure to keep us updated with what you decide to do going forward :) It better not involve selling the Corrado ;)
  14. Well given that buying a new one, if you could find it, would run you over a grand I thought it seemed pretty fair :|
  15. Do you hear the fuel pump prime at all when you put the ignition on?
  16. Seems a good price for someone - will need a refurb before it goes on a car just for peace of mind but should sell fairly painlessly at that price :)

    Bonnet foam Removal

Some info here, Goldie :) http://direct.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?53858-A-Technique-on-removing-Bonnet-Sound-Proofing-Pads
  18. Really digging the carpets - they've superb :) As usual though shipping prices are a real killer :( Out of curiosity what numbers would you need to do something with group buy prices?
  19. Erk - hopefully that's just a glitch and they all show up. Besides, being sent by tracked courier, will the item be insured for a replacement if it has gone MIA?
  20. ?!?!! Thought the car had to go because of your bad back mate?
