  1. Am just testing out Windows 8 (and the built in browser is IE10) and just got redirected to the other site whilst attempting to read a PM! :| I'm surprised the vBulletin developers haven't said much about this yet as it's clearly some kind of exploit..

    Headlight Protectors

They're fine. I've been using them on my Corrado's for years in winter and never been flashed for having headlights that were too bright or in peoples eyes!
  3. Selling this on behalf of a family member, as they've now got a laptop through work and this is no longer needed. It was bought a little over 3 years ago (1st October, 2009). It's got a very large / wide screen (15.6"), has a 2GHz dual core Pentium CPU, and 4GB of RAM (which is still pretty respectable today). Hard disk is 250GB. Has a slot load DVD drive, and the lid is a nice funky purple colour. It's got a few scuffs and scratches but nothing serious on it. Has pretty good expansion port options (USB, etc) and even has HDMI meaning you can plug it straight into your LCD/Plasma. I've checked the license key and it's entitled to Windows Vista Home Premium so prior to sending it out, I'll give it a complete reinstall and put some base packages on such as Google Chome, and Microsoft Security Essentials so you're ready to go with it right away. If you want any more information or some pictures let me know and I'll sort something out :) Looking for £175 + postage (these seem to be £200 upwards on eBay so I think this is a fair price). Cheers.
  4. Yep - mucho money. Nokia jumped the shark with the 920 I think.

    16v Vs VR6

Avoid that red 16v on general principle - there was a discussion about it on here recently and looks like someone bought it at significantly less than the current asking price and stuck it straight back up for sale. They clearly know nothing about the Corrado if they advertise it as a GTI 16v :| Besides, for that money you could get a superb condition VR6.

    16v Vs VR6

The VR6 is no harder to maintain than the others in my experience.. the only large expense is the cost of doing the timing chains / tensioners job if they haven't been done but that'll only ever be a one-off job for the whole time you own the car.

    16v Vs VR6

The 16v's are marginally better on fuel (1.8 16v's more so) but the VR6 is just a better all round car. The only other area the 16v excels in is being nimble, not being quite as nose heavy as the VR6. A popular route it seems on this forum is to start off with a 16v, find how well you settle into ownership and perhaps after 12 months trade up to a VR?

They're great tyres mate - and I think pretty much impossible to beat in terms of price / performance!
  9. Superb work - looks like it belongs there, which is always the sign of a job well done!

Always try your local tyre centre.. you never know how good their prices can be. I recently got some Uniroyal Rainsport 2's from a local place who have been in business for years and they were cheaper than places like BlackCircles including fitting.. they'll be the first place I try next time before I start shopping online.

Because a lot of people don't think to ring around and just call the first place they come to in the phonebook or go to some place they've actually heard of... That is a total rip though joby!

  13. Anyone got examples of threads that are doing this? I've not had this happen once yet..

    Awesome TT

I wouldn't even give him a bag of carrots as a swap for that. What must go through the mind of someone to do that!
  15. What about the HTC 8X - looks pretty darn decent..
  16. The device manufacturer is irrelevant to some extent when it comes to ease of use - that's down to the operating system running on it. HTC are making Windows Phones, as are Nokia, and various other manufacturers. In terms of reliability of the device, in contrast I had a HTC Desire for two years and it was virtually indestructible. Now have a HTC Windows Phone (HTC Mozart) and again that seems to be pretty good... :) ---------- Post added at 2:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 2:27 PM ---------- Bad news. The Lumia 920 has been confirmed as an 'EE' network exclusive. Even if you buy the full price, SIM free handset, it'll still be locked to EE (T-Mobile / Orange) - so if you use either of those carriers you're in business - but if you don't, then you can't buy the Lumia 920. Insanity.
  17. Yep.. or you could just buy yourself out of the iPhone contract (would normally just your monthly fee multiplied by the number of months you have left) then just flog on the iPhone. If you did it that way, you could also move your number over..
  18. That may confirm what I'd heard about it being an EE exclusive, on-contract only... :|
  19. Interesting - only person who can do anything with this is Andi. I've personally not had this happen once though - I use Google Chrome. I'll post a subject in the mods forum to get his attention..
  20. I use Spotify for most of my music these days.. I'm rarely somewhere without good WiFi or 3G signal - and for the times I know I won't be, I just build a playlist on my PC then log in on the phone and get it to cache it for offline use :) It's brilliant!
  21. It means using the Bing app on Windows - which is really quite pants if you're already a well established iTunes user (like you are, Kev) :(
  22. Yeah - been following this handset for a while but Nokia have been terrible at releasing information. I heard it was going to be an EE exclusive, on contract only but have subsequently read that Phones4U should be selling it SIM free for £459.99....
  23. I read something that said the Indy franchise is thrown in but complications make it basically worthless to Disney, and unlikely they'll do anything with it? Not sure.. Regarding Star Wars though.. I see pictures like this and worry somewhat..
  24. My die-hard Star Wars friend at work is convinced it's the end... But as someone who likes Star Wars but isn't THAT bothered by it, going on the fact that Disney own Marvel and did a great job with recent films like Avengers Assemble, it feels like they'll take care of the fans in any future movies they make. And of course Pixar, who Disney also own, seem to make continually great films.. so who knows.. :) I'll await episode 7 in 2015 with some interest. And a little bit of concern ;)
