  1. I can't imagine there is much to dislike mate - an automatic always makes for a better daily driver. The only thing you'll lose on an older auto is the driver involvement and the ability to drop down to whatever gear you want, when you want. On the up-side you've still got the VR6 soundtrack and grunt and it'll be much easier in traffic :) Chin up. Sounds like a pretty crap situation to be in mate :(
  2. Just re-watched The Social Network, having bought it on Blu-Ray recently. Just such an awesome film.. it's visually stunning, and you really feel like you can empathise with every character. It's just so well told. Even if you hate Facebook, I urge you to see it just for the actual story and the characters. 9/10.
  3. Here you go Jake.. http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?106705
  4. That is a comprehensive summary Chris (thank-you!), and excellent news for those of wanting to make a purchase. So.... when can you start taking orders, Matt? :) Just one question where I will need to sound a bit stupid but.. what is the dim-dip circuit and what's the consequence of it not being present, Chris?

    LauraJ's VR6

Unfortunate indeed but apparently a common thing to fail... there was a link posted recently to a company doing reinforced clutch release arms for this very reason! http://www.flipsidecustoms.com/?page_id=261&shopp_pid=3
  6. You seen the follow up picture for this? The entire back end of the car is missing.. it's properly, properly hosed...
  7. Caption competition for #4 - "It's missing two cylinders!!" ;)
  8. Superb :) Really pleased that this has all come to a happy conclusion. Looking forward to seeing it all back together and on the road again :)
  9. Well if we all buy a few articles, we can look to do this. Certainly I'll scan the few that I bought.
  10. Thanks - just bought a few of the articles that I'd never seen before. Cheers.
  11. Ahh... the second one ;) Still makes me laugh..
  12. Must say I've seen Ace Ventura several times but don't remember that reference! :)
  13. I was just checking the same for my trip to Germany later this month.. sadly a value add lacking from the Chris Knott insurance package it seems! Green Flag look to be the cheapest.. set, daily rate regardless of the age of the car (from what I can see) - 5 days worked out around £60 compared to over £80 with the AA...
  14. Gearbox oil is REALLY easy to do.. given the difficult of some of the jobs you've tackled, gearbox oil is right down there with one of the easiest things you can do :)

    Ooops

The stupidity of some people out there never fails to amaze me.. the scariest thing is that they're out there, on our roads..
  16. Why do you persist with ignoring the forum rules on selling items? Please post an advert in the proper place!
  17. Finally just saw the second X-Files movie "I Want To Believe". I think it was a good story but just wasn't put together well enough, acting seemed a tad dubious in places and some rather large / irritating plot holes and contrivances! Not a patch on the first movie. 5/10
  18. Wasting your time on trying to clean those injectors.. I've been told many times the only way to sort them is to replace them. Afraid you'll just have to suck it up and pay up... injectors are expensive - just one of those things! Aren't there some 30% off Euro Car Parts discount codes still floating around? I'm sure I posted one not that long ago...
  19. I just think the most disappointing thing about it all, is how few programs I actually watch on the BBC - this was one of them. I think it would boil down to about 5 or 6 TV or radio shows that I actually watch / listen to: * Today & PM on Radio 4 (yes, I'm boring) * Mark Kermode & Simon Mayo Film Review on Radio 5 Live * Top Gear * Have I Got News For You * Formula 1 * Wonders of the Solar System / Wonders of the Universe There might be the other odd documentary but.. that's about it! And as we all know, some of those (Top Gear / Wonders) have very short / limited runs and most likely more than pay for themselves through syndication or DVD / blu-ray sales..
  20. This guy is in the USA, just by the terminology he uses... so I suspect it's not a car you know about mate :)
  21. Trying to work out if this was me but... can't have been as I was at my friends all afternoon in Leamington Spa... why do I never see these other Corrado's around! :)
  22. Try now mate - I hadn't realised they were still awaiting approval :)
  23. Are those borbets 14" ... ? They look reaaallly tiny for some reason!
  24. I'm not sure whether it's the BBC cutting back (which is what I think it is) or greedy Bernie getting more money off Sky... or a combination of the two!
  25. I can't believe he invested more into it, in either time or money, than Jay did though..?
