    Dinner date

Good spot! Though I had to sit through EIGHT adverts before I could see the 2 seconds of Corrado! :)
  2. Cheers Kev - understand what you're getting at :) And Jay - get one bought ;)
  3. I disagree. Both you and Kev take the maintenance of your cars to a very high level. This is not a criticism - it's a compliment. But what I'm saying is that you both go WELL beyond the level of "normal" or even "keen" maintenance to keep on top of your cars and keep them in good running order and good condition.. There are lots of us out there who simply don't want to commit that amount of time or effort to keeping one of these on the road. And that's not because we don't care or are being deliberately neglectful.. some of us just have different priorities. In those kinds of situations, I agree with Gareth when he says that Corrado's are just getting to that age where for most people a Corrado isn't necessarily the best for a daily driver especially if you want to do it justice and keep it in good shape but you don't necessarily have the time to work on it, have your own garage, etc etc... That said I've used Corrado's for dailys now for... well, quite a few years and without wanting to massively tempt fate (crosses fingers, touches wood, etc) I've never been let down apart from once and that was my own fault. Even on the car I have now, which was picked over with a fine tooth comb by Kev and Neil who replaced absolutely loads of classic trouble spots, I've still had to have the car into the garage on a number of occasions to fix a number of issues.. I think for me, using the car every day becomes disheartening because you simply can't effect a repair and know that it might well be the last time you ever have to do that. You have to continue running it into the ground, you have to risk taking it to the supermarket, you have to use it for lugging crap around it and a little bit of you dies inside every time you scratch it - or some inconsiderate oaf damages it for you. I like the car too much to keep doing that.. hence why I will be getting a daily sorted as soon as is financially viable.
  4. Hm. To be honest I agree with some comments made on here recently though that the Corrado is just starting to get to that age now where it's becoming less enjoyable to use as a daily. I'm currently using my VR as a daily and already little mechanical issues that have come up, not to mention the continual degredation of the overall condition are starting to depress me.. I'm quite ready to retire it as a daily driver and get something newer and more comfortable sorted for the daily duties so that the VR can have money spent on it and know that work will be good for much longer than a few years! You say you have zero time for sorting problems - I think it'd be a mistake. Even though it would be great to see you back in a Rado again Jay! :)

    Corraduh!

Sadly yes - not automatic :(
  6. Perfect. Have to be honest and say that the Schmidts really never did much for me on your car, but those CH's are absolutely spot on. Very very nice indeed :)
  7. Be interested to see how well they do yours Andy for that price.. might be worth me taking my VR down to them for some paint!
  8. Fantastic :) Clear to see you're very pleased with the results. Nothing quite prepared me for the acceleration the first time I came onto an A road in 3rd gear, in the Stealth VR6 Turbo and put my foot into the carpet.. I felt like i'd just been fired out of a cannon. The noise and the torque from the thing were on another level. Absolutely sensational! :) I do really believe it makes the VR6 super-car quick and would be very surprised if one wouldn't be able to catch out some properly expensive metal when the driver is caught napping!

    nice..

Agreed - they do look good, but then the Corrado has always suited a good 5 or 6 spoke alloy.. My old G60 on Speedline Comp2's... I always thought they were a near perfect wheel for the Corrado but did need to be a bit wider as they looked too skinny from the front and didn't quite fill the arches properly. Side on though.. just about perfect (in my opinion anyway!) :)
  10. That blue and white TR7 was something else - V8 twin turbo. The noise it made going up the hill was immense!

    Corraduh!

Ah... didn't realise! Earliest Corrado I've ever owned was a J reg G60 and I *think* that had it... hmm...

    Corraduh!

    I read the sodding handbook!! :) :)

    nice..

A bit scene? I think perhaps the word you're looking for is a lot scene :)

    Corraduh!

They really have that. Flip the wipers down to the intermittent wipe. Then back up to the off position... then count how long you want the intermittent wipe to be (say 5 seconds) then flip the wiper switch down again. You've now set your 5 second wipe interval! Give it a try - I'm not winding you up :)

    Corraduh!

Top features that people are always surprised the Corrado has: * Variable intermittent wipers (i.e. you program how often the wipers wipe on intermittent mode) * Foldable wing mirrors I've known people who've owned them for years and not know about either of those :)
  16. Wrong one. You need the (now obsolete) fixed height cowling - which has no cut out for the steering column height adjuster... Get searching regarding what parts you need - it has been discussed, at length, in many threads including what parts you need and don't, etc :)
  17. I brilliantly managed to leave my camera there - so none from me today!! Thankfully Wendy picked it up for me!
  18. Cool - nice update Kev :) Never get bored of reading this build threads!
  19. You say that.. you haven't tried to get to that ******* retaining screw yet mate ;)
  20. I often found the ignition switch would play up when weather was warmer (presumably the internals heating up expanding slightly) - no easy way to be sure it's to blame especially if it's an intermittent fault but they don't cost a lot and are a common fault so worth replacing anyway!
  21. Ignition switch possibly..? Presumably you could turn on the ignition and the lights all came on the dash, etc but when you came to turn the key to start the car nothing happened?
  22. What a great day. Was up bright and early and arrived at almost exactly 9am. Quick bit of helping folks get the gazebo up and then over to the onsite cafe for a fry up! Spent much of the day lazing around and chatting cars with folks, and then took a walk up the hill with Wendy to get some pictures and watch some of the cars thunder past. Absolutely superb and just such stark contrast to the endless generic VW shows.. a pristine, historic venue brimming with enthusiasts, well thought out and well managed facilities - it felt like petrolhead heaven! Definitely have to go there again :) Thanks to the folks that organised the day - I really enjoyed it.
  23. Managed to wash the car this afternoon albeit at a jetwash.. so will hopefully be heading up tomorrow morning :) See ya then folks :)
