Many thanks to cheesy for an easy sale of my car. Turned up to view when he said he would, and turned up to pay and collect the car when he said - and no haggling on the price! Thanks mate! :)

Coolio :) As mentioned before, the rack doesn't NEED to be done in terms of it being an MOT failure or anything.. it just makes the steering heavy and the old worn track rods make the steering wander on the road slightly - but it's far from being terrible hence never actually getting around to sorting it.
-
Good purchase! Look forward to seeing progress with this car :)

And now back to being a one Corrado family. Really sad the red car has gone but.. needs must :(
-
Agreed. The Corrado looks right at home there mate! :)

Depends if you want originality or not. That seems like an absolutely steal to me.
-
Mark - if you'd like to PM me your postal address, I can pop a current copy of the Sprinter in the mail for you.

Gearbox oil is nice and easy and well worth doing. It's easy to see why we're getting ever cheaper services at garages.. they're just cutting corners on everything. Fuel filters, and fluids such as those already mentioned... there are so many little jobs that need doing that just don't get done. Always worth taking your Corrado to a specialist who'll actually do these little jobs.. or of course, do them yourself :)

Gearknob and handbrake lever :D Oh and yes... a carbon rear spoiler! As bristolbaron says on the next page, the Spoonfed ones are very nice but I think I'd rather pay Chinese prices! Got a Chinese framed carbon road bike and more than happy with it.. they've proven themselves to me already! :)

Well - would the process be that we have to contact you for everything, or is there a way to order them directly ourselves without having to hassle you? Does your branch mail stuff out if people phone up and place orders with you?
-
Like the sound of this! When it's all setup, be good to know the procedure for purchasing on the account! :) Thanks!

This should be it.... http://the-corrado.net/classifieds.php?do=addedititem

VR6 Timing Chain Kit - Cheap Supplier From USA
Jim replied to MK1Campaign's topic in Suppliers Forum
Agreed. Chains definitely stretch with age - that's the purpose of the tensioners! As volksworld13 says - for what they cost, and for the effort of getting in there and replacing them, you really should do them as well. -
Corrado Club National Day reminder Sunday 24th July
Jim replied to Butterfly's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Should hopefully be going if I can get the car at least vaguely clean in time :( Will just head there on the Sunday! -
I think for me it'd be a respray and a new windscreen!
-
Ahh.. the Corrado in its natural habitat - the fricking garage! :)
-
What advice are you looking for? It does seem like it'd be something worth getting done - not especially time consuming / expensive to do :) What bits have you swapped so far and when / how is the car lumpy? It seems to be something of a dark art getting a 2.0 16v running nicely!
-
Kev & David - Slagging posts deleted... it makes us look really pro when moderators start tearing lumps off each other. If you're gonna do that, do it over PM or something please! Thanks.

Car was left in gear as well as the handbrake being FIRMLY on :)

Pete... great to hear from you mate and hope you are well! In the end I managed to get a friend to pop up and help with the fitting which saved me a few quid but thinking I may just get the car to DG and get a new one put on now... had enough of it! Regarding the M5... well that would be awesome mate. My circumstances have changed since we last spoke so only have space for one car on the drive. But we could sort out technicalities and logistics nearer the time, if it all comes to pass :) it will only make me want to own one though so might be a bit hard to let it go! :) Be good to see you when you are back mate.

HiSpec advertise at the Classic Car Show in November. Always thought their brakes looked like superb quality and was always stunned at how light the calipers were! Good to hear some positive comments about them!

It's pretty clear reading the posts that, once folks actually get their chargers off to G-Werks and get a service done, or when people get down to get their cars sorted out down there they're very happy. I don't think the quality of the workmanship was ever in dispute.. the problem was just trying to get dates for actually getting work done nailed down. I think we all accept that Darrens business has grown considerably, and clearly there has just been too much work to do... but the bottom line is paying customers were getting the run around and it's very frustrating to be in that position especially when you've forked over your hard earned in good faith. It looks as though the right steps have been taken to rectify this and I hope, as you say, the general opinion of G-Werks improves considerably again. They really are still the only choice for charger rebuilds as far as I'm concerned, so not only is their service valued, it's near enough essential. If the only company who does charger rebuilds becomes untenable, then the entire Golf / Corrado / Passat G60 enthusiast base suffers! Anyway - onwards and upwards! :)

Good to see you back on here Darren.. Agreed with what's been said. I hope the new hires help you get the customer service side of things back on track!

Annoying I am at my folks on the east coast and not back till Sunday otherwise I would have popped over! :( Will just see how it does on the 130 mile drive back!
