  1. The pump has been on for about 3 weeks and I have done about 500 miles or so since fitting it at a guess.. it was only noisy for the first day or so then quietened down nicely. Hand primed loads before actually firing up, and fluid level kept right up so did not neglect any detail. Not sure which one it is Kev... just checked it was the same and chucked it on... :(
  2. Think the good quality 2nd hand PAS pump I fitted is already on the fritz :( Started the car up today and it's making a new chirruping noise. Even after a 40 mile drive, still chirruping. The aux belt is a brand new Continental one so I don't think it's that being worn or anything. Checked and it's not from the top of the engine bay and sticking my head down near the PAS pump, seems to be coming from there. Slightly annoying to say the least. Looks like I best think about getting a brand new one :(
  3. Sorry mate but the 'halo' around the Corrado has gone for me. I still like them very much and plan to keep the VR forever but in terms of cars I want to use every day, the Corrado is just getting too dated and tiresome for that job. Something more modern and comfy appeals! ---------- Post added at 07:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:42 AM ---------- And cheers for that boat load of good info Kev! Stuck on a mobile atm but will check that link out....
  4. Obviously been watching Sebastian Vettel on Top Gear!
  5. Did give some thought to one of those as another thing I was thinking about was AWD/4WD for when the snow comes.. had pretty much decided in my mind I didn't like them but I have to say that's really rather nice. The only doubt was interiors on Subaru's from that era were pretty dreadful.. at least a 5 series would be a nice place to spend time! Food for thought though - that does look very nice indeed :)
  6. I am to treat whatever I buy as pretty much disposable. Small jobs I will do, but anything else then it will just get scrapped!
  7. Could be tempted by an A6.. certainly thinking that size / class of vehicle :) But I do fancy trying a BMW. Always had an itch for an E39 5 series which I'd very much like to scratch!
  8. Christ... that's a lot. My intention was to, if possible, find something pre 2001 so I could avoid the higher tax charges and just pay based on engine capacity!
  9. Ooh... fingers crossed its still around in a week or so. Local would be a big plus!
  10. Indeed... looking forward to seeing what 2k will get me!
  11. I'm pondering between several different motors. Thinking of straying away from VAG to be honest! I'm looking to spend about 2k. Not worried about petrol costs too much as I live very close to work now... Thinking it might be... an old Merc like what I had before but in better nick, a BMW 5 series (530 for example) or something along those lines! Maybe even a Volvo or something. Want something big, wafty, comfortable, quick... you get the idea.
  12. Red car is being picked up next week... already scouring Autotrader & PistonHeads for a daily so that the VR can take a well earned break. In the mean time, I took it on holiday to the seaside. This is not far from my parents and I've always wanted to get a picture by the sea.. finally this evening, the car was clear and it was a mild and quiet evening - headed up to the slipway for a few pics!

    VR6 Badges

Appreciate your efforts into this mate! Fingers crossed we can get all the suppliers in place to get a run of badges done..
  14. Never understood this Top Gear thing of cars losing so many horses as they age. In my experience of going to many, many rolling roads the Corrado engines generally hold onto the BHP's pretty well, especially the VR6 which almost always puts out within a few HP of what it should be putting out - unless the cam position sensor is dead but that's normally quite obvious and quickly fixed :)
  15. Saw a dark coloured VR6 on the northbound M6 somewhere (and vague I know) between Preston and Lancaster I think, this morning at about 10:30am'ish...? Think the plate ended DTP and looked like it was on at least 17" alloys. I was heading southbound on a return drive from Glasgow but not in my Corrado sadly - 700 miles and my only Corrado spot!!
  16. I half agree with that but hope they never do in some respects.. I adore the original cartoon movie and would be mortified if they ruined it with a remake!
  17. It's baffling to say the least.
  18. Not entirely that clearcut though.. who knows what goes on in the minds of non-petrolhead women. A few years back, on holiday in Cornwall, came to a hill just in time for a VR6 with an induction kit to turn past me and proceed to welly it past us. I revelled in the sound... my partner simply said "Sounds broken..." ! So from this I vote their opinions on these matters be stricken from the record!
  19. Speaking as someone who is utterly useless with electronics, I'd really be keen in something thats just essentially just a plug and play swap / upgrade! :)

    What a tool

We need some American police justice... rammings and firearms. I can't stand that we're almost held to ransom by ****ing neanderthals like that in this country. Ridiculous.
  21. I'd really like standard green for the fan speed and direction, but the blue -> red on the centre dial! But would be happy with just a standard green on the whole panel. Definitely count me in for this one! :)
  22. I do the feel the majority of members here are more interested in the car, and keeping them to a certain extent original or tasteful. This has been amplified as the Corrado has "gone out of fashion", and most examples have fallen by the wayside through neglect or whatever. The scene folks seem to have moved onto more modern metal now - which is just fine with me.
  23. I do find it slightly interesting that there has been literally no effort by the G-Werks lot to come and put their position over on the forum. If that were my company I'd not only want to address peoples concerns and criticisms, but also look to be seen taking such concerns seriously!
  24. That's the problem Neil. The feeling of running them into the ground by actually using them. I'm ashamed to admit that the VR isn't getting the love it deserves and is unfortunately just having to be my car - and to be honest because of the change of circumstances, etc I've sort of gotten over it. The paint really needs sorting, etc and it pains me every time I use it to be honest - but circumstances dictate that.. well, the car just has to come second and I won't beat myself up about it. I guess if you're really at that point then.. you'll know. But I'd suggest only selling it if you are left, financially, with no choice. If you've got the option to get it on a trickle charger and stick it under a car cover and you only use it once every few weeks... then fine.
