  1. Presumably it'll depend on what they paid for the car and what they had to plough into fixing it up. Maybe the margins were too small to go over the car and do everything. Bearing in mind only the very best Corrado's can command anything like strong money. People were grumbling on here at them asking £5,000 for it! Personally I don't care about the chains. Yes it's a job that will need doing on lots of VR6 Corrado's, but it's an entertainment show and it features our favourite car. Provided it doesn't get a flip paint respray and a set of 18" Wolfrace alloys fitted, I'll just be chuffed to see one featured on the show.
  2. Hoping to see Edd having to be physically restrained by Paul & Mike, to prevent him from giving the car a kicking when the job he's just spent 6 hours working on doesn't actually fix the fault.. or the door handle breaks when he tries to get in the first time to start it up ;)
  3. Haven't been so excited for a TV show in years!
  4. Your search powers are weak old man :) Here's the eBay links but looks like they've all gone :( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-VW-Corrado-wing-mirror-RHD-536857501A-/201321722812?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2edfb5b3bc&clk_rvr_id=906527951600&rmvSB=true http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-VW-Corrado-wing-mirror-RHD-536857502A/201321722550?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D30111%26meid%3D4835e5afe7074109a38ec590db1e3f62%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D201321722812&rt=nc&clk_rvr_id=906524958584&rmvSB=true But good news. They were also listed here, and indeed seem to be still in stock :) http://mi-uk.co.uk/epages/950004761.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/950004761/Products/%22536857501A/502A%22&ViewAction=ViewProduct
  5. Yeah - wondering if the thermostat is stuck open!
  6. Volkswagen dealership :) Assuming they're still available!
  7. Have to say it looks like DBP to me too.
  8. I guess I'm not an expert here but wouldn't be sure moisture in the exhaust in a morning is necessarily a sign of the HG. Mr VR's always put out a bit moisture from the exhaust on a morning for a good few minutes whilst warming up. The coolant loss is interesting though possible you've had an air lock which is still working it's way out of the system? Do you have a compression tester? Any sign of oil / water contamination?

    JMC's G60

Well done mate :) Glad to hear you're hanging onto it. Seeing the sort of price you were having to come down to and knowing just how much work has gone into this car, seemed pretty criminal.
  10. They're not cheap directly from VW. According to a price list I have here they could be as much as £30 each... so £360!! Hope they don't come to that amount.
  11. Doubt either of them would be looking to sell you a dead one mate :)
  12. Primarily just really interested to see how it feels on the original cams. Despite having owned a VR now for... 4 or 5 years it's only ever had the SP263's fitted. I'm interested to see how it feels / drives / sounds on the stock cams! That and ever since I've had it the valve train has always seemed a bit noisy to me. I've no idea if tappets, etc were replaced during my engine rebuild (as I never did actually get a full breakdown of what was done.. sigh..) and they're noisier than ever now and from reading other posts by a number of folks over the years with noisy tappets on VR's, SP263's have often cropped up in the cars suffering the problem so part of me wonders if they do accelerate wear in the top end a little. As I'm fitting new tappets I figured go back to original cams and see if the noises return after 12 months or not!
  13. That looks lovely! Although I can't help but think they look like 288mm brakes up front :)
  14. The idea of sourcing cam sprockets and this trigger wheel is that I won't need to seperate them off the old car and can just assemble my OE cams off the car and drop them straight in.
  15. Should you decide to go down that route, Euro Car Parts do GKN CV joints which seem to be pretty good and are pretty reasonably priced - listed at £51/each and that's before you apply whatever offer they have on at the moment. Changed one on my VR a couple of years back and all is still well with it :)
  16. It's a difficult one. If mine was in better shape, I would have sold it by now. But I don't think I'd get a lot for it.. and having sunk a lot into it, I'd be angry for throwing away the money - so at least want to try and tart it up some more before I get to the point of making a decision on it.
  17. Can I commission you to do one for me? ;)

    Wanted: VR6 Cam Sprockets

Yep :) And gonna order the bolts and cam trigger wheel from VW, along with a bunch of other bits. Also spoke to Autotronix today so will be getting a set of injectors off up to them when I'm back as I'm away next week too.
  19. Cool - that's the one I was expecting it to be - same part number as what I put above. Cheers :)

    Wanted: VR6 Cam Sprockets

Nope. After the 12th would be fine mate :)
  21. Anyone have a pair of VR6 cam sprockets going for a good price? :) Thanks.
  22. I'm doing some work on my Corrado in a couple of weeks - hopefully fitting refurbished injectors and new tappets as one of my tappets is making a real din. As part of this work, I'm removing my Schimmel SP263's and going back to the OE cams. The OE cams I have don't have a cam trigger wheel on them and from reading up on other threads relating to cams, apparently it's not uncommon for them to break during removal so I want to get a spare just in case. Looking on ETKA there's two different ones, depending on your year. Mine is a later model (1995/M) so I reckon I should have the later, cheaper (thankfully!) cam trigger wheel. Does that sound right? (part number 021 905 163). Thanks.
