Sounds funky! Where abouts in the UK is this?
-
My accelerator pedal is a bit squeaky too.. must get that looked at! When I first bought mine, had the same problem with the pedal being really stiff. A friend disconnected the throttle cable and ran a little WD40 all the way down it.. sorted the problem. Its also worth noting that the throttle cable gets quite slack if it hasnt been tightened up in a long time - mine was slack to the point of not actually opening the throttle the whole way. Tightened it up and it gave the car a noticable amount of extra punch :)

Well, I dont drive a G60 but I rarely ever take the car to the limiter.. it certainly can't do it any good making the engine work that hard :|
-
Nigel, Its definately true - they never released 16v Corrado's in the US - only the G60 and the SLC/VR6 (hence the Bentley manual only covering those two cars)
-
Can also help if you (and excuse me if this is the wrong term as I genuinely dont know) de-fuzz the edges of the brake discs with a grinder. A friend of mine was getting sqeaking from one of his discs - took the wheel off, went round the edge of the disc blasting the fuzz off, problem solved. No more noise. Again - could be totally unrelated but.. never know :|
-
Well.. worth mentioning that I have pagid 8 groove discs and pagid fast road pads on the front. Can't say I have ever had squeeking under braking, and they have been on the car over a year.

That might help explain a bit.. I have that black power cable running up with the aerial cable, but have no where to connect it to my head unit! Looks like I need to go and find out about that part at the dealers! Thanks for that! :)

Hm.. I guess I'll have to have another go when the weather is a little less... inclement. I have got the booster but its just sat in my toolbox in the boot.
-
Nige, Can you explain how you are supposed to get a voltage feed to the thing? I bought the booster but because I am so technically inept, had no idea how to power the damn thing. It comes with a small crocodile clip to attach it to a power feed of some sort but.... no idea which one :\

Nope - the Plenum Chamber is as it says - the heater intake. Its where the car sucks in the air it uses for the heaters :)
-
Joe, Thats excellent news.. glad to hear the damage isnt as bad as you had first thought. :)
-
Argh :( I had similar fun when my windscreen was leaking.. would come in (depending on the camber the car was parked on) and would drip down over the fuse box and into the footwell. How it never blew a fuse or did any damage i'll never know.. glad I got it sorted when I did. :)

Is the large ECU mounted in the middle underneath the scuttle tray, the ABS ECU? Or is that the 'main' ECU? :)
-
Hm... think we are getting confused. We seem to be talking about two different plastic covers from the front.. one is to the far left on the passenger side and is the plenum chamber cover - a flimsy piece of plastic that loosly fits over the plenum chamber (where the car sucks air in when you switch the heaters on) and is about the size of a shoebox. It helps channel the water away and down into the drain holes by the arms/springs for the bonnet... The other bit is the piece of plastic, in three pieces, that runs along the bottom of the windscreen and has holes in it for the wiper blade to mount through to the motors. I assume that this, the scuttle tray cover, is what nigwell is referring to as thats the one that comes in three pieces :)
-
Not sure on the part numbers, but if it helps, the actual name of this part is the 'scuttle tray cover' :)

Jim is your car runnning hot? cos thats a wired one Nope - the car runs at pretty good, steady temperatures to be honest with you. Chuck's answer certainly seems like the one.. Chuck - any chance of a picture/photo so I know what I am looking to replace? I am not the most technically minded, but if you point it out, I might stand a chance. Might be worth mentioning (to help in your reckoning of this problem) that when dropping down to low speed again, I find that I occasionally get cold air coming back in, in between the hot. Same problem you think?
-
Could it be a similar problem that I only seem to get waves of heat from the heaters when I get over about 50mph? Until then, the air isn't warm.. hit around 50mph and it starts pumping the heat out?

So got my exhaust sorted out this morning... whilst I enjoyed the novelty of driving without a backbox (put your foot down, and everyone walking down the street turns around and looks!) I was glad to get the new one sorted out :) Nice and quiet again :) I found out that my local tyre & exhaust centre would fit the new backbox too (£16.. not too bad), and as it was raining and hailing today, decided I didnt want to be scrabbling under the car. Immobiliser confused the two muppets who were fitting the exhaust though.. when they came to start it, they ended up setting the alarm off.. :)

Would kill to own that Coventry one.. bring it home to Coventry as well :) What was the deal with the Campaign Register? Was it sod off because it was a Corrado (its a campaign, so whats the difference?), or was it sod off because they didn't believe you?
-
The user 'Campaign' here (does the name give it away?) is the lucky owner of one of those 6 rare Corrado Campaigns. Thats Jeremy Bromley. I am pretty certain he has taken a few photos of it, and I am sure that he will be more than happy to link you to a few - either PM him, or hope he notices this thread :)

16th Feb & 26th Feb? Might have to try make it down to one of them then.. hopefully see your C eating up the competition m8 :)
-
Great photo's ! What time did Ant's G60 manage to get then? :) Nice sunset photo too m8! Very arty! :D
-
I'm not entirely sure actually.. I believe VW discontinued a whole bunch of badges, so you might be better off contacting either Trimsport or GPC! :)
-
Still waiting on confirmation from John Munyard who I believe has organised this. He said he will post to the mailing list when he is ready to start booking places.. dunno when that would be though :(

You mean you don't like it? I dont think anyone with a pair of functioning eyes could like that thing :)
