no 1st or 2nd gear but reverse 3rd 4th and 5th work
leeeeshad replied to leeeeshad's topic in Drivetrain
I can't see anything broken and all the bolts are tight, thanks for the ideas though. -
Hi, my reverse is stiff but I can't get into 1st or 2nd, (which makes me think its not the adjusment that I've seen in a thread on here) its like they have just disappeared from the gearbox. any ideas? I need the car for work tomorrow morning :( Cheers ---------- Post added at 6:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:33 PM ---------- A bit more info, it will move forward or back into 3rd or 4th, but the only way the gear stick will move left is if I push it down as if I'm going into reverse, and then all I can do is go into reverse, can't go backwards for 2nd and there's no 1st inbetween reverse and 3rd. edit (again) I can just about get it into 1st sometimes, but i have to go down (as if going for reverse)

Thanks guys I've got the numbers now, the chassis number was in the service book but the engine number was under rust on the other side to where I was looking on the block. (thanks vag hag but I've ordered some from VW as £69 each wasnt too painfull).

Hi, I'm replacing my front calipers on my 92 G60, the dealer says there are a few different ones and they need my engine and chassis numbers to get the right ones, so I don't have to hunt around the block for the engine number does anyone know which ones I need? Thanks in advance.

There is a vacuum pipe that goes into the back of the clocks if it comes off you get 99.9

The post code and BS number is only required for cars registered after 2001 or something like that I think

There is a guide by G-werks here, it's called a rebuild guide but it shows how to remove it as well. http://www.matey-matey.com/g60-rebuild-article.shtml

Hi, I need a new early hazard light switch for my MOT in a week, but I can't find one, do any other cars have the same type fitted so I can widen my search? Cheers.

People with cheap torque wrenches, have you had them checked for accuracy? It could seem well made but me miles out, ours are all calibrated yearly in house, no point using one if it isn't accurate.

Are the prices is $ or GBP? you've put both down lol. -
The SKF ones should be good, they make bearings for aircraft.
-
Why would you want the brakes and steering like a new vag? They are way too light and have no feeling, one of the best things about the corrado is the steering and pedal feel IMO
