+1 my replacment one only lasted a few months before it stopped sliding -
the hook part that attaches to the bonnet is 535823507 according to vag cat

Is that strap actually needed? Mine fell apart! Not sure, I guess VW fitted it for a reason? The original had nearly broken at the bonnet hinge end, hence the reason I replaced it. Ian. Is it used for the heated washers? I cant rember if they have their own earth or use the bonnet.

Wasn't sure about how that'd work.. wouldn't I need to know details of their insurer and stuff before I ring my insurer? Photos and their number plate would be enough wouldn't it?

Wheels in motion in welwyn garden city are supposed to be very good, I havent used them but they seem to do non standard stuff, could be worth a call. -

Spray some silicone lube on the rubber door seals, that should stop it freezing.

That and a different tread pattern, with snipes.

Back on topic, I'm very impressed with mine, a merc Ml and and old jap 4x4 couldnt get up a steep hill, and others being pushed on friday and I just drove up, there were people at the top looking shocked to see a car driving past :lol:
