im thinking the same joe.. climatronic would be a nice modification to cap off a perfect corrado. there are kits on ebay now and then for the full system. there was a writeup somewhere.. guy bought the parts off ebay had a go of it and it turned out quite well.. not too difficult if you have the parts and patience.

i think that was me who asked about the doorcards.. what do you plan on using.. modified TT cards? always liked those TT interiors.. the dash and the metal bars around the shifter are great, nice work.. wish i could see it in person to see how tight the fit is! looks top notch. welcome to the forum :)

depends entirely on his reputation and accountability. unless someone on here has dealt directly with him no one is going to be able to tell you anything you don't already know.

oh... and get a somewhat mild cam. ive got a cam in my ride and the idle is fine. there are cams that will give you a boost in power without messing up the idle too bad.

i wouldn't go over 1.9L with the g-lader.. or atleast... thats what everyone says to me when i suggest it. g-lader runs out of breath at 2L... if you're gonna do it... run a really small pulley but dont take the revs as high. if i were you i'd bore the PG block to 1.9L and then focus on headwork if youre stickin with the g-lader. wait.. that IS what i'm doing :D

sam from SNS in the states ran it for a while and loved it. he got a kit cheap from a poor honduh riceboy i think.....and now i think he's looking to sell it off to someone else.
-
that TT dash is v nice. how tight is the fit in person? esp up by the windshield.. what's he doin for doorcards? the TTs wont fit i dont think.. and the corrado's wont fit the TT dash.... sorry to hijack the thread, looks like good fun and nice motors! :D

ya my parts guy will give me full attention for a $0.10 screw... find a new stealer.

same here leigh.. i get 10psi at about 2500rpm and 13psi by about 3500rpm but no more.. leaky tubes.. big IC yes.. big pipework no. the 2.25" pipework that's in there is more than large enough to handle the airflow in these cars. bigger pipes will only hurt boost response as they take longer to fill with compressed air. big IC, and get some cold air straight into that air filter from down through the carbon cannister hole (which you can relocate down into the hole if you don't want to just delete it).

1. Oil banjo bolts: i never had a problem with them. just nip them up and take your time. 2. Allen Key bolts rounding off: all i needed was a 6mm allen socket.. you brits might have a 5mm in there but i dunno why you would. if you round one off.. get a torx socket that is a little bigger than the rounded hole and hammer it in there. will come right out. 3.The belt tensioner not going down: sounds like you're smarter than me.. using physics instead of pure brute force  you should be able to just compress it by hand and slide it off. get that outlet. what did darren have to say about that? i'm surprised he didn't force one on ya! if you remove the 3 or 4 bolts that hold the silencer together you can take the IC side of the silencer off and then the bolt is real easy to get at. where's the pictures of the porting then?? did darren grind out the outlet for ya? if he did the rallye outlet will be too small.. again, talk to darren.

if you're pushing your car that hard without an intercooler.. and repeatedly over several runs getting everything real nice and hot.. i'm surprised you didn't blow apart your engine or else the ECU is pulling out some seriously timing. does the car feel like its pulling out power at higher rpms? ..or do you mean you have the stock IC in there still and are waiting on a big one?

what do you want to know? i have some pics...no one seems to be too clear on its history tho. ive heard claims karmann sent a cabrio to zender to mess with.. but ive also heard zender made it from a coupe.
-
i feel your pain.. sounds rough. take a good long look at that gasket and see if you can see where water passed around it. could be warped head in which case a new gasket will be a waste of time. but im not a good person to take head gasket and warped head advice from lol. good luck!!

shave em off of there! :D
-
sarcasm. i didnt know there were two different back benches... i thought we all got the armrest/headrests. what did they do in late models.. something like a golf/jetta? never seen pics of a corrado rear seat that wasn't like mine...
-
even so.. stand alone will be faster/more versatile. sam told me straight up.. if you've got the money, don't waste your time on digi, go straight to stand alone.. and he's the digi god as of late.
-
i dont know enough about stand alone to go too deep into this... but consider this: if you speak with sam brown, the mad scientist at SNS (makers of what many people will say is by far the best digi1 chip.. with no digi-lag) he will tell you to go stand alone... and he's the one who'd make the cash if you went with a chip! i only have a somewhat mild setup on my G60 right now.. standard stage 4 nothing too crazy yet... and he told me i should go stand alone. chips are great, but stand alone will always give some more grunt over digifant.. more tuning capabilities.

you should ground the gauge to the same ground as the o2 sensor, behind the engine.
-
they wont even ship to canada free of charge so the UK is out. i asked them to send it UPS Air to avoid duty/brokerage fees at the border and was told this was no problem, was charged for it.. but they sent it UPS Ground and i was charged more duty/brokerage than i care to mention!!! :x :x

quote from that tutorial: "I took my lights to a friends bodyshop to clear them. Professional clearcoat is the best to use and I highly reccomend it over store bought. I slipped the guy $20 for his materials and he was happy . If you do not have acess to professional clearcoat, use an ENAMEL based clearcoat. Do not use a laquer based clearcoat because it will strip all of the Nightshades off the tailights."

make sure you take it off and wash under there now and then or it'll get real nasty after a while..believe me..some people are just dumb.
-
sure darren can answer himself but i believe its about a week or two at most. he posted a pic of 4 or 5 gladers in a row on his bench last week  get all those done yet then daz?? :thumb right:
-
11mm wide enough? what was stock.. 8, 9mm? ive been told that some of the really widebelt conversion kits have been pulled off the shelves because they can get out of phase. this is only when you upgrade to an uber wide belt and change the cogs as well.
-
ya it'd be nice if he photochopped the vw logo so it was angled properly  i'd buy that for a dollah!
-
well to help the noise you can leave the rubber elbow on the boost return and aim it so that it is as quiet as possible. and as far as the oil goes.. either run a line down to where the oil can drip without being seen or get a catch can. i wish i could tell you how im getting on but my car is parked
