  1. you're right on Jon.. you can take it out, and adjust your idle to whatever you want at the screw.
  2. haha joe! if that was a civic i'd be very satisfied!
  3. stop it! you'll bring me to tears!! could very well be a US 16v nigel... but it would be a swap from a 1.8L scirocco or passat or 2L passat.
  4. we don't have vauxhall over here, so i guess that crowd had to find something cheap to destroy! you wouldn't believe how many stoopid civics i see everyday. we have novas but they're chevy muscle from the day when gas wasn't a consideration..saw a nice example yesterday. integra type r's and nsx's are nice.. not my cup of tea but i'd drive em. S2000s can be realllly nice if they are modded out properly. ..as long as its not a civic! :x geeze..
  5. i completely understand hondas from a cheap reliable ride to work standpoint... i'd take one over my beater for that. its the guys that think they are nice to look at.. or fast at all.. or anything other than an ECONOMY car that i don't understand. its the guys that rev their old school 4hp to CRX redline every open piece of road they get. the guys that cruise through residential streets at 2am poundin the bass. i know i flew off the handle on my first post, but i'm not going to hide my discontent and it all rings true, if we're talkin about the civic rice boys. do you know how many pictures of mangled civics i've seen with fatalities in the accident??? runnin reds goin 140km/h, smashing into pedestrians. you know how many smashed up bodykits on slammed civics i've seen from them ramming through bumps that any sensible automobile owner would avoid? you know how many trashed 17" rims from not knowing how to park next to a curb? a cop was killed in toronto a few months ago from a civic runnin a red and t-boning him.. only ontario cop fatality this year so far i believe. they are idiots. ..and of course, there is exception to every rule. there are those types of drivers for every make of car i'm sure..but civic owners, as a group, are the worst hands down. ..not that every civic owner is one of them and apologies if i offended someone. i doubt anyone who frequents this forum has much interest in modding a civic. :?
  6. i agree. i'm refering to the civic soup can crowd.

    aftermarket exhausts

get some stainless pipe, mandrel bend it. stick a resonator in there and your highflow muffler of choice at the end. bugger around with mounting for a few days. done. cheap. :)
  8. its about hondas sucking pure balls and their bitch-ass rice boy drivers being bitter that we drive a car that is fast, looks good, and gets the ladies goin more than their civics ever could regardless of how many plastic body panels, hot air intakes and soup can tips they stick on. and don't expect them to understand or agree... they bought a HONDA. imagine the mentality!! fuck you honda owners! :D

    Lambda meter

i've read that unless you go with the top of the line meter, air/fuel gauges are laggy and don't give you a readout in real-time. it is my understanding a way to get a read in real-time is to wire up some LEDs yourself, with a greater range than a typical a/f guage. maybe 20 LEDs instead of 6 or 8. you're right, for the money its not worth the aggravation.. but is it just as accurate? i really don't know, these are just concerns that i've come across while trying to find the best solution for an a/f readout. Dubcharged: how about performance when not under WOT.. since that's when its in closed loop? i'm not talking head-snap performance.. i mean running an ideal mixture in regular driving performance. thanks.

    Aerial fitting

why are you switching? i like the stock look, or if anything, a much smaller S2000 antenna that screws right on the current base. looks very nice. i haven't seen what you're talking about.. have any pics?

    Lambda meter

i've seen people make their own since its just a set of LEDs hooked up to a range of electrical pulses. don't know exactly how to do it though.. i think i saw someone post an in progress project with a line of LEDs mounted right in the cluster below the tach. who was that? i've been told that hooking the meter up to your current O2 sensor will weaken the signal and possibly effect performance, so some people fit a second sensor. dunno if this is necessary but worth considering.. can anyone offer some advice? anyone made their own LED display?
  12. you can adjust the activation speed.. there's some soldering and electrical involved. there is a tutorial somewhere i've seen... cca i think. or you can just disconnect the automatic activation and do it manually like me :D
  13. i've been takin a closer look at that shaved silver c.. where'd the wipers go?? ..is it legal to shave the side repeaters over there? ..i agree about the back end... very nice and smooth..did euro corrados have 3rd brake lights, i seem to remember that they don't..but then why is there that line below the spoiler where it should be? i like the smooth bumper..is it setup with an exhaust dump then? i was considering side-exhaust for a little while.....

    Stiff accelerator pedal

haha, thanks for cleanin up my foul language andi.. or vr.. or whoever did that! lol
  15. sorry about your luck jim... delock the doors! ..its stories like that one that make me so paranoid without the C's doorhandles shaved! nice that you won't need to go through insurance though. if it helps at all.. same thing happened to my cavalier while i was in the theatre watchin a movie.. came out and the pass lock cylinder was popped out with a flathead, as was my deck. i always take the face off of.. but didn't that time. i ended up claiming it and got the hood, boot and pass side all repainted, new headlights and a new deck (which i have since fried :x ) it makes it a lot easier to decide whether or not to claim when another asshole knocked your headlights in and keyed up a whole side a few months earlier............ ...then a few months after that, before i blew the engine, the other side of the car was keyed to shit. no respect..
  16. i'm 21, 22 in september. bought my 1st cavalier beater when i was 17, the XR4Ti when i was 19, for my 20th birthday i found myself a nice Corrado G60..which i paid off until my 21st birthday and this past december i bought my 2nd cavalier beater for less than the cost to insure the corrado each month. we just got the big warm front here as many of you elsewhere have i'm sure.. and i was delighted to wake up to the first dreary rainy morning today. all the salt is getting washed off the roads as i type this.. and it gets closer to rado time every day!
  17. thanks dan.. nope, didn't see that link til now. very nice ride! very sharp and i like the interior. not too sure about the bling rims..look like they should be on a lowered truck. i don't think i like the painted window triangle... the mirror should be there!
  18. i am considering the TVR style mirrors..can you easily find the extra parts required? i am considering M3 style mirrors for only one reason.. i *really* like the look of corrados with completely shaved sides. so if i shave everything off and the mirror is the only thing left... i just may have to use the completely obvious traingle instead. chuck.. do you have it setup so that the door is released and pops open a few inches when you hit the keyfob? i'd like to hear more about what you did if so..and i'd like to see those tuscan mirror pics if anyone has em!
  19. good call man.. my friend does bodywork and just got laid off from the stealership ((Mod edit: ) 'not very nice people'). i'm tryin to convince him to get a shop goin. white collar is nice and clean and you get pretty flaming shit like a nice crisp suit but running a business is the way to go..imho. more satisfaction. good luck with that. :D

    Stiff accelerator pedal

good move mate! i figured.. drive new jettas (*cough* sorry.. boras), passats and A4s all day... and fix my rado for cheap... what could be better!? but alas.. its a stealership and they are (Mod edit: ) 'not very nice people'!
  21. i am a 'website designer' although that's not the title i would have given myself. more like 'web developer'. i work for CAA Mid-Western Ontario.. CAA is the Canadian Automobile Association. http://www.caamwo.on.ca their website is completely hideous and i hope to redo it as soon as possible..if i'm still here. i tend to move around from job to job a lot which is bad since i'm trying to save money to start a business.. a shop and space to rent to related trades and for storage..not to mention the money needed to keep a corrado tip top. ..i like computers but sitting in a box all day bustin my chops for someone else isn't my scene. always looking for something new!

    Stiff accelerator pedal

i worked at the stealership as the courtesy driver for half a year after i bought my C. you want to talk discount? how about fixing all the little corrado neglect bugs with the vw shop and tools at your disposal, and parts at cost +5%?! (works out to about 55-60% of retail) 8) na na! :D
  23. thats the blow-off.. is it not?? it always does that, but you don't hear it because it gets routed back into the charger normally.. unles you bunged something up and have a leak like dubcharged said. but..sounds like you just acquired the blow-off *ching!* that i miss so much from driving my XR!
  24. exactly.. but SHHH! ..no crashing.
  25. i'm savin for a house too... thats why the rado sits in the shed a lot! :? i hate living at home!! ..but the car is sooo nice
